Well trust me, it will take a real good car to get me out of my Evo. So after I get to drive an 05 GTO, I will no what I want to do. So I will post my decision after my test drive

As far as every saying I should buy an 03/04 Cobra, I will never buy another ford.
I just had a bad experiance with Ford. My best friend had a S281 Saleen. Sweet car. Just wasn't reliable, Lots of problems.

supra's are none the less a very capiable drag car, but supras=Expesive as crap to mod and to find one is like new condition that hasn't be abused severely is gonna be another hard issue.

I'll agree that the GTO's interior is much better than that of other offerings by domestic producers, but it is nowhere near as good as the M3.

Stock for stock, the GTO will NOT beat the M3, and it maybe cheaper than the M3, but it doesn't handle anywhere like an M3, looks anything like an M3, or pull women like an M3 would.

The GTO is a nice car I have driven it at a track day set up by GM an it does have good straight line power but it is very heavy and you feel it when you bring the car to it's limits. You also will want to invest in some drag ET's or similar tires if you want it to hook up at the dragstrip it might have a 400hp engine but it also has an as* load of Tq and can spin them thru 3rd but topend is very nice. For the amount of money it cost to get one decked out I would keep my Evo myself even stock you would spank it every aspect except for the nicer interior but I did not buy it for the interior. Second thought at highway speeds stock might not be able to keep up.

Well I went to a pontiac dealer the other day to see the new GTO, the only think I like about it is the engine. Everything else just suxxxxx. When I first saw all the interior pics on their website it looked real nice but now........ buarrrrr

Luxury? yeah but it still looks cheap. cheap materials that is. Rental car looks, and ohhhh! that steering wheel,, looks like it came out of a sunfire. Those gauges maybe black or silver but red/blue on a "luxury", "domestic", "drag car" with a "GTO" badge?
400hp and nice burnouts are the only thing you get for 34k.
just like when the 4th gen camaros came out (had one for 8 years) it was a bang for the $$$ but really cheap looking inside.
I wanna see those leather seats after a year or 2.

Turbowill,

I am not going to change your decision but are you aware that the GTO weights close to 4000lbs?, then you say that the interior looks and is better than a M3?Uhmmmm I must raise the BS flag on that one, you will never find an american made car made with the interior quality of a Exotic European car.

Anyway, I take a used ZO6 any day before I get the GTO, you can find a good 03-04 Z06 for that price range, another option would be the Cobra but if not, just you can spend a couple of thousand dollars and make your EVO much faster and it still out handle the GTO anytime.
