Might be Selling Evo for 05 GTO

Hey guy's just curious what you opinion is.

Performance
I have an 03 Evo with low miles. 8000m. I want more power. Now to get 350whp I'll need alot of mods, and still won't be happy with the top end. Now I love the new GTO. 400hp stock for 34K. Now with minor exaust, Intake and Ecu tune the GTO will be at 420hp, atleast.

Interoir.

We all now the Evo's interoir is not that great. The GTO has an interior that will make the M3 guys jelous. Not to mention the 05 GTO will stomp on a E46 M3.

Handling.
Yes the Evo will out handle the GTO. But I'm now looking for a car to drag at the track.

So it all comes down to me wanting a drag car for the track. Easier to launch. The new GTO has the ZO6 engine. Not bad to start out with. I was thinking about getting an 04 cobra, but I want luxury. So what would you do?

Um, I happened to have raced an 05 GTO and I won. This was before I even put on my mbc and got dynoflashed. Stick with the evo, you will be much happier.

If you aren't concerned about handling and want even more power, and want to drag, go for the GTO. A better choice for that would be the Cobra, but the GTO will suit your needs just fine.

MUCH happier with the EVO...the new GTO's are just a Grand Prix with a bigger engine IMO.

If you must sell the evo and your gonna spend 34k for the GTO. do your self a favor and spend the 34k wisely. an 03/04 cobra is a heck of lot better car then the stupid GTO. I'm a GM fan and have never liked fords, but the 03/04 cobra's are just bad ***. for 1k (programer, pulley, and drag radials, you can have an 11sec cobra. the GTO are a joke. and forced Induction is the only way to go. So, if you wanting a car for a drag setup. go for the cobra. I think everybody here would have to agree. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Don't get me wrong I love the 03/04 cobra. I like the GTO better. Why?
I will never buy another ford.
My friends Cobra goes back to the dealer all the time for a knock in the engine the can't seem to fix? I hate Ford

GTO has a Sweet interior. The only mods I would do on the GTO are Intake ,chip and exaust. I want to keep it pretty much stock.

Yeah, that would be true if they shared any parts. In truth, they're based on the Holden Monaro which is a rwd platform and most closely related to the Cadillac Catera over here. The 6.0 liter 05's are much better looking to my eye, with the dual exhausts and hood scoops. Good luck, let me know what the trade in value is.

I just test drove a GTO today and wasn't really that impressed. The power was good, but I expected more from 400hp. The main culprit is the 3725lb curb weight.

However, with the deals GM is cutting on these things you can spend the extra cash on the AVO turbo kit or a lingenfelter supercharger. That should level the playing field with the cobras.

Having gone from 2 Pontiac Trans AM WS-6, with the same engine and one witht he 6 speed the other with the auto. I can personally attest that they are fast, not as fast as my mildly modified EVo. Also, the quality just isn't there. I would still be in one of my WS6s if they weren't built like crap. You might be happy for the first few months, then it is all downhill.
P.S. I kicked the crap out of the last 2 GTO's that wanted to play and I never, well almost never, race my car. I thought the car was nice and wanted to see what it could do, so I gave them a run. I was disappointed in the poor showing.
