You all may say that you would ditch your Evos for a Z06, and while maybe some of you would without blinking an eye, but then there are those of you who would regret your decisions.

The only way I would trade my STi for a Z06 is so I could sell the Z06, then buy my STi back, and buy an Evo. If I play my cards right, I'd still have a few thousand dollars left for mods.
sorry, that's a lame "argument"...the whole money thing

what happens when the z06 is modded? lol.....i can say "hey, why get a lambo or fordGT if i can get a z06 and use the difference in price for mods" wah wah that's so lame...besides, your modded Evo and STi (heavily modded too) won't come with a warranty

either way you try to slice it, 11.5@125mph off the showroom floor is amazing for $70k......best thing is, it wasn't even made for the drag strip either...it's braking/handling is up there with the best of them as well

you should change your name to fanboy

Nope! I am pretty happy with my evo. Feels really good when you pass a car at the track(road course) thats 2x-3x more expensive.

I sold my '05 C6 for the Evo. I made this move for several reasons. The first was practicality. If it's snowing, you can't drive the car. If it's raining, you can't drive the car. If you want more than two people in the car, then guess what? You can't drive it. So, now you have a $56,000 car sitting in the garage that never gets road time. Is that worth it? Secondly, it's about the drivers. You can be part of the Corvette club if you too have a handicap sticker. The car is for the older crowd. I'm 26 and all of the guys I spoke with about their cars either knew nothing about them, including guys at car shows, or they were too stuck in themselves to carry on a conversation with a stranger about the car. Before the 'Vette I had an STi. It's a great crowd of people and I'm happy to be back on the scene. The Evo guys (and girls) and great and I wouldn't do it again. Everyone is insightful and not quick to judge. If I lived in AZ, then maybe, but it's not a practical Illinois car. Just my opinion... coming from experience.

jesus. The really gay comments like it cant be driven in the rain blah blah is so pathetic. Like where did all of you idiots learn how to drive? I was born and raised in Florida, and I had a 69 Chevy Cheyenne pick up with a 454 in it. Drove it everyday to school, and work, it had 12 inch drum brakes all the way around....not once did I have a problem driving it in the rain.

Im sure driving in the snow would be different...but to be honest what idiot would drive his 75k supercar in the ****ing snow?

I especiall ylove the "I would take it and sell it, and blah blah I'm gay blh blah comments" STFU

Drive the car, and then tell me youd trade it away so fast. I heard one of those ran 10.80's on drag radials and minor mods. Do you realize how much money youd have to put into a Evo to get it to do that?

I seriously question the sanity, and the sexuality of any person who thinks an Evo is a sexier car than a Vette.....thats like saying a Cummins Turbo Diesel is sexier than a Ferrari F430. I love my Evo and all, but the fanboi BS needs to stop.

Would I take my Evo over a C5 Zo6. Yes. Would I take one over a C6 Zo6...HELL NO. Pull your heads out of your ***'

Also. I wouldnt listen to Clarkson to closely. They are Transverse leaf springs, and those "leaf springs" out handle may other cars suspension setups

haha, exactly

people are such retards..."OMG i don't wnat a ferrai because i can't drive it in the rain!!!" "OMG i can't take my mclaren to the mountains!!!!! what a crappy car" hahahaha

people want a sports car? they get a z06....if you want to ****ing go to the mountains, you get a car that can take you to the mountains, lol.....if you want to ****ing fit 5 people in the car, you get a freaking 4-door car...simple as that, jesus...nobody advertises the vette as an all purpose car

besides, if you can afford a $70k car, i'm sure you can afford to have a second car to handle your every day activities

i still laugh at the money arguments, haha.....you can also mod your evo to be faster than a fighter jet, big woopi...i can take a soda can for $.05 and spend $100,000 in mods on it and make it faster than an s7

Your comments on the last two posts are lame. First, pb24daqrk, make your own argument. It's a waste of time reading your comments because you have nothing intelligent to say. By no means am I bashing the Corvette. After all it is a great piece of American machinery. You have to respect the car and the tradition. What you also have to respect is what the Evo can do. The amount of power that is being made out of a four cylinder engine is amazing. Straight muscle is always great, but now you're looking into the true mechanics of a car and taping out every single piece of power that you can. I have more respect for anyone who takes the time to know their car and mod it accordingly. I do not have respect for people who buy expensive cars and then drive them like no one else matters just because they have the 'Corvette' name on the car. This is a simple conversation and opportunity for opinions. Obviously you're upset. This is made pretty clear by your inappropriately placed anger and obscenities. It's okay to be passionate about your side, but no one has taken shots at you. If you don't like what's being said, then don't respond and the thread will fall to the way side. It's all good.

Not true. $4,995 otd cam install from vette doctors. I don't remember the exact HP number, but it was somewhere around 550 whp with intake, cam and exhaust. That's pretty darn good power for the money. I actually intend to sell the evo and buy a Z06 by the year end. They are just mean cars.

So the 4g63 is a well engineered motor. Who cares. While Mitsu obviously engineered the motor well, they under- engineered the t-case, and tranny.

You talk about all of this technology....look at all of the technology inside the LS7 motor to begin with. How many cars come from the factory with a dry sump??

Forged crank, magnezium and titanium components? How about the wheel hp it can make all motor....

The car just looks better, stops better, accelerates harder..and i bet if your tooling around on the freeway in 6th gear doing 60-70 it gets comparable gas mileage.

Its a 500hp race car...with AC and gorgeous looks. The Evo is a 30k Econo-box turned into a wanna be rally car. Be realistic. Your Evo is NOT the same car that they use in WRC. Its a civilian wanna be.

I love my evo, but I hope to riding in a c6 z06 sometimes soon. My evo is decently fast. It has 558whp, but I think I can make at least that with the z06 and be faster in short matter.

Just because one owns an Evo it doesn't mean we'll simply be attracted to the cheapest power for the money.

I wouldn't trade my Evo for a Z06 because, for the money, I'd rather get a car that wasn't ugly with a cheap interior. If I'm going to spend upwards of $70k on a car, I'm going to buy a car that performs well, but also one that looks nice and has a ncie interior. I could care less if the Z06 outperformsan RS4 or something similar because for that price I'm fine with the performance that an AMG, M car or Porsche gives me.

that's what you don't understand...the z06 targets a specific enthusiast, one that wants pure performance and a race inspired sports car

if you want the luxury or whatever (and slower car), then so be it....believe me, when you're accelerating 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with your cheeks plastered to your skull, or when getting nosebleeds from 100-0 stops or experiencing 1.1 lateral G's, the last thing you're worried about is the quality of the interior, lol.............besides, it's not as bad as you hope it is...it's been greatly improved over the c5...and the looks is opinion, most people think it's a sexy car (definately worlds sexier than an Evo).

that's kind of why i sounded harsh earlier when flaming the other responses like "oh it can't fit 4 people, it can't go to the mountains" blah blah....BECAUSE IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE, lol......that's like trading for Shaq and complaining he can't play point guard, or complaining that Nolan Ryan didn't hit any homeruns!! or that wayne gretzky can't play goalie!

either way, name me one car in the $70k range that performs as well as the z06....i know ferrari, porsche, and lambo owners get nervous when they see one at the track
