you calim I don't know anything, but you want me to answer your "tehcnical" questions? That's a laugh. You come in pissing on the car, the platform and the engine, but you want others to "prove" to you why you shouldn't?

You're a troll. Period. You don't get to come in stirring up BS and then try to revert back to a technical argument.

Dyno # dont mean ****!, track ets and mph is what dtermines what the TRUE whp a car is making.. Dynos can read high and ppl manipulate them..

Nabisco! Ha ha ha! I can't stand people that have no clue to what they are talking about. Oh, by the way I'm not biased at all when it comes to performance cars. If the new STI is better than the Evo X that's what I will get.

I'm a fan to no one. I just listen to people that know what they are talking about. You're just a Subaru fanboy that does not have a real basis on your arguments.

Track #s weren't debated. Horsepower/Torque #s were debated. You're the one that's wrong. Don't accuse me of being the troll when you're way off base as to what that thread was even about.

Wrong again. I never came in here stirring anything. You're the one that started with personally attacking me. I asked you to back up your claims, since you seem to know this engine and platform so well. You can't do that. All you can do is throw out personal attacks. I'm done with you. You know nothing, and the more it's blatantly obvious, the more you try to divert attention from yourself.

And of course it's a laugh for you to answer "technical questions." I already knew that. You acted just as I expected you to have. Thanks.

Hmm. let's look back at the history of this thread. Here's the first reference to the Evo X:

That's clearly a troll intended to annoy Evo fans and distract attention from the hideous STI winged hatchback. Later he repeated the Hyundai "slam":

And if twice wasn't sufficient, maybe three's the charm:

When someone finally calls him a troll, he, of course, denies it:

Well, I think the record is clear that that's exactly what he did.

But let's look at his claim that the Evo X will have "a Hyundai motor under the hood".

The engine is 's variant of the engine produced by the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance, which is a joint effort funded by Daimler-Chrysler, Hyundai, and Mitsubishi. It was designed with input from all three, and each will customize it for their own applications.

The term "Hyundai motor" implies a motor designed and built by Hyundai, not a motor designed and built by a partnership of three major manufacturers, one of which happens to be Hyundai.

Calling the Evo X engine a "Hyundai motor" is roughly equivalent to calling a Mercedes McLaren SLR a Chrysler. Yes, there are some corporate connections, but it's (1) highly misleading, and (2) intentionally inflammatory.

EvoM obviously has pro-Evo and pro- tendencies--although 's warranty shenanigans are certainly not unnoticed. It really doesn't serve the Evo community to allow people to participate who don't believe in the Evo and who constantly try to "stir things up" by posting anti-Evo FUD and pro-something else fanboy drivel.

I really don't like censorship, but, in a public forum like this, there have to be limits (like the current prohibition on personal attacks), and I think it's time to consider adding trolling to the list.

ouch, but so true imho. the 4b11 in the Evo X needs to make 80whp from tbe untuned for me to want to trade in my IX for it, at this point...

the sti hatchback looks ok, minus the wing (loooks like it's forced on there, wtF) and tail lights (who in the blue f**k comes up with tail lights like that?)

it'll come with a 2.0 L instead 2.5L now?

edit: i dont agree with the hyundai statement, from what i've read the engines are shared as a foundation, but the final build-up of each "foundations" will obviously result in much different engines in the end...its not like a hyundai engine will only need a turbo to be as powerful as the X's engine or some sh*t like that

I think the new front end is an improvement on the previous model for sure.
They likely chopped the rear for weight savings, which will obviously help boost its performance potential.

did u mean to say he had dyno numbers to back up the increase in power from the mods he was adding?

trap speed is the true indication of how accurate the whp figure made on a dyno is. like u said if a 500hp f-bod runs 14's, that basically mean the car is NOT making 500hp, but the dyno says it is (could be tweaked by tuner, a high reading dyno, or a bad tune with a .4 sec. peak power)

Was gonna add my 2cents to this conversation, but Slowride and GPTourer pretty much sum everything up.

No. What that means is that someone can't drive. 1/4 time has nothing to do with horsepower. Trapspeed does.
