cant wait!!! I will love to see these bad boys eating up the Z06 and vipers in the near future.. And everyone knows that if the engine platform is as versatile as the previous 30 years this thing will be unstoppable... hopefully the used prices are within reach when i get a real job!!

Nope....not going to happen. This will not be a Z06 or Viper killer in fact I even doubt Nissan will better the Porsche 911 TT that was the goal in the beginning. I think it will be a mid 12 second car with traps in the mid teen range 115mph or so. We will see soon enough though.

No?

OK, so what makes you the authority on this?

This 3 model rumor is looking to be not true (atleast initially). According to people in Japan who have pre-ordered the car the 3 models are just different trim packages. More info http://www.************/forums/Japane...in-t19974.html

Also being reported that the GT-R ran a 7:38 at Nurburgring http://news.windingroad.com/body-sty...han-911-turbo/

It's my opinion the car was benchmarked against the previous years TT Porsche 911 a high 11/low 12 second car with high teen traps. The goal was to beat this car around Nurburging and match acceleration....for Nissan to all of a sudden produce something that will beat a new Viper or Z06 in a straightline or at Nurburgring would be some major sandbagging on their part.

That's why I said we will see! Currently Nissan is saying 450hp and 3500lbs I don't see how that will tangle well with a 505hp 3090lbs or 600hp and 3455lbs.

I think the car will be great and true GT Tourer let's hope Nissan pulls the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and surprises us all with 450-460awhp and 3300lbs, but I doubt it.

The EVO-spec is $94,000. That puts it right around where the 3000lb, 650hp ZR-1 Corvette will be. Need I say anymore?

The fact that they needed to shave off 200lbs for the EVO-spec pretty much tells me that this car will be fat (as expected).

As for the comment about the GTR not aiming at the 911 or the Viper...etc...it is

It was 2 seconds quicker than the 911 round the nurburgring, and they think its not the 500hp version.

"So the story is that the GT-R is two seconds faster than the 911 Turbo on the Nurburgring. And the Skyline in the photos doesn't even look to be the mad-gunner EVO-spec version"

So, you think Nissan took the GTR and drove a couple of laps and ran a 7:38? If so let me tell you that is not the case. The car has been test driven at the ring for over 5 months trying to hit a number with a world renowned ring driver. In the end we will have to see unless Nissan is sandbagging a 3500lb car with 450 crank hp will not be running 7:38 at the ring without a great tire, world renowned driver, and perfect conditions.

Example: When Chevy ran at the ring Rohl did 4 laps on stock tires with progressively better times each lap and then Chevy said let's rap it up and left. 4 laps not 5 months.

Also remember when Nissan said a stock R34 would run a 7:59 at the Ring and when other racers starting running 8:30's the number was put in question.

I'm done I hope the car is awesome and blows away everything!! I just don't think it will.

evo wannabees, the "evo" name has been synonymous now with all-out race spec, race prep version. Even the IS-F will have an "evo" version and even the 997 carrera will have an "evo" version
