I'm honestly not just saying this because I own one, but the Evo X looks a lot better than previous models. It looks more like a real sports car. Sure it does look like a regular Lancer. All evo's do. The difference is that the new base lancer is actually a nice car now. And I will add that the Aero Kit makes the X look even better.

Everyone I've talked to has commented on how much better this car looks than my old one (VIII).

How in the world would anyone confuse these two? In fact, it would take a true automotive enthusiast to notice the similarities - unlike the X, where it would take a true enthusiast to notice the differences.

Yeah bud, we've all seen them. If you don't like the X, fine. I don't like the IX, but you don't see me saying anything bad about it do you? I only use it for comparison sake. I don't understand why people come in this thread to say bad things about the X. Come in here and say good things about the IX. That's fine... but to say stupid stuff like "the X is ugly and it's slow," come on.

My bad, you weren't the one to say that. That was directed at the other guy.

Yeah, I was wondering where that came from.

Don't get me wrong - I think the X is a great machine and has considerable advantages over the IX. However, I still see the IX as more of a true driver's car, and it's where my personal preferences lie.

You can't notice the differences between these cars with a casual eye?

i know this is a bit from the original Q, but to me, a "true" drivers car, is something unique. it cannot be defined, explained or related to others. its an internal feeling that each experiences on his/her own.

i drive an S6 with the lambos V10, and yet to me, its not a true "drivers" car! and the supercharged Jag XJR i had before that, was even less of a "drivers car". however, when i drive my friends slow-*** 2006 330xi automatic, with the sports package, i get true pleasure, and can honestly call it a drivers car.

IX to me is also a true drivers car. X... i dont know, never even sat in it (but already dont like it )

the true driver find the pleasure in the performance car when he is driving it, no matter what.
If he doesnt, then its like this:
if you want to hear your favorite music, but you cant play on the piano wont matter you got the greatest piano, because you can't play on it , so you blame it on the piano? Mean while the piano player can play song on the not so great piano and you will recognize the song and even enjoy it.

I do understand preferences about cars , but if you have your own preferences then why you looking an other type and blame it it is not a driver car? Or not my taste?
