I think the same goes for a lot of us
But going along with that point with the money, I'm saying the CT9A's suspension can be improved to perform at a similar level to the X's. And it won't take that much money (relatively) with the major fixes previously mentioned + upgraded rear diff

One thing always holds true: Evos give the most performance/value of any car, no matter which version. Just depends on the money you put in.

Doesn't the X need a tune to match the IX in straight line performance? The IX needs a TRE diff to match the X on a road course, so each car has a 1 up on each other.

^It's hard to even get into "matching," because they are always going to have strong points over the other, which pretty much means that it will come down to the track being used for comparison. Even though the differences between the 2 are a little more than that, I agree with your point for the most part. They are both great cars.

Pretty much what I'm saying, although I think it'll take a little more than just the upgraded diff to match the X in corners (bump steer, trailing arms, front roll center)

But yea, basically the point I was trying to get at, that with upgraded parts the potential performance of both cars should be somewhat similar.

so you think the factory reflash as a same level of mod or equal, to the rear diff. change to an after market one, + chassis bracing, huh? Interesting at least.

Also we where talking about the handling ....

So an upgrade in rear diff is a more "severe" tune? It's definitely not as common, I think it's a more "advanced" upgrade for people who are more into motor sport rather than just an improvement in straight line performance... lol at least it costs about the same

Uh, I'm pretty sure a rear diff upgrade would cost a LOT more than a reflash, especially with labor to install it. A reflash costs like 650-750 for software and a full custom tune. I find it hard to believe that a rear diff upgrade from TRE would cost that little. How much do they run for, do you know?

http://www.teamrip.com/EVOLUTION%20R...20SERVICE.html

This is the new rear diff upgrade that everyone has been talking about that alone has eliminated almost all understeer in mid to corner exit in the ct9a's.

Ohh. I thought you were talking about an aftermarket tune. Shrug my IX aftermarket tune cost $150 and I picked up about 50whp =]

I think overall point has already been laid out and not worth typing out again. But yea.

I was talking about an aftermarket tune, so if your saying a factory reflashed X will be faster than they have been running sounds good to me.

lol what annoys me is ignorant people who think we've "maxed" out our engines because of our high boost on just a 2.0L

i dont think will be faster in 1/4 mile though then a IX, but would be equal for sure.
After the second factory reflash the X picks up around 10 whp. So it shot it up over 300hp.
And no bugging anymore. .
No wonders though.
