The X should be compared to its natural competitor, the horse drawn buggy.

Why not the X vs go kart then?

you going away big time of topic .

so the question is where the IX gains in the turn over he X?
Stock vs stock?
I want to say there is nowhere where a IX would turn through a corner faster, but I'm sure there are A FEW corners that a stock IX would be faster.. Maybe like a steep uphill corner that's not very sharp?
But I'm sure that simply by mass and inertia the IX would have a slight advantage in entry speed into the corner, and through the mid and corner exit the X's s-ayc would pull it out at a faster exit speed

Really though.. stock points are moot. Anyone who leaves their evo stock isn't using it properly =P
tre rear diff ftw!!

Hmm I'm not a scientist so I don't know how to explain, but from seeing the Ohlin IX vs Ohlin X video, you can see the cars turn identically in a turn but within that small time period, you see the IX sometimes fall back then advance few inches and vice versa once in awhile, (I'm not talking about the case where the IX falls behind by several car length due to braking to avoid the front car) and thats with both drivers on full throttle. What I'm saying is that when the IX creeps few inches in those moments, I believe that is when the weight advantage is kicking in. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and the X may just be losing traction for split second due to dust on the road.

Stock vs. stock on a regular race track i haven't seen an X beat a IX. The only time iv'e seen the X beat the IX is when the IX was USDM and the X was JDM at press release.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWJkHJUOIlU

How many race tracks have you been to where they were racing the X and the IX?

Im talking about the different mags that tested them both head to head, from car and driver to motortrend, and H2H. Im not saying the IX is a better platform but stock vs. stock the IX still gets around the course quicker.

Every one of them puts them within a fraction of a second of each other which amounts to all of a hill of beans with 99% of drivers.

they have to push the top car as always. although the GSR performance numbers are better. Only have a 1 foot longer stop.

The X is cool but it's just not an VIII or a XI. I would rather keep my 8. I mean, I've seen people say "your just sayin that cause you can't afford a 10" buuuut if I'm still making payments on my 8... then whats the difference? haha i paid a little less for my 8 then I would pay for a 10 lol

Really? A launch notwithstanding, a stock for stock X MR vs X GSR, from what I've seen, is that the X MR will run quicker

yes it does , against all odds: more weight - less grip in turns and slower acceleration...
Hm... awesome.
And they all test say because the SST trans mission which is better then anything.
Well. how many times actaully you shift on road track in less then 14 second?
because the 1/4 mile run the GSR is also faster but you shift 5 times all away up to the top gear and no advantige there for the sst ...
Hm interesting also..

The trap speed is also higher with the GSr so the MR still not gaining ground either ...

Wonder , how those numbers comes out sometimes.

But basically who cars ? both is Evo Just to answer to your question.

Yea but I think the benefits of an racing automatic have been proven.. True, you may only shift a few times depending on the track, but I think it's a huge boost of concentration.. not only do you not have to shift, you can completely concentrate on driving and not even THINK about whether or not you even need to shift or not, and that's huge.

Not that I'd get an auto =] I'm a manual fan boy
