Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
Have your parents ever said they wish they wore a condom when they talk to you. I bet mitsubishi wishes they PULLED OUT of the USA before they released a horrible offspring call the X
No offense man, i think its cool to change the car around, but not for the worse.
I had my heart set on that car for 2 years, and was hoping it would be "better" than the IX.

Again you guys compare prices of the fully loaded Evo X with a base model competitor. thats not a fair comparison for price. if your going to compare other cars with price range in mind, compare it with the options equipped with the car.
^And you have back problems if you think the recaros are crap. the new recaros are more comfortable than the evo9

Which is great. Why ? Because its shows the enthusiasm around the Evo. Its show right now, in even early stage with the X. Nobody wants to loose the precious prestige of the Evo.
Definitely not the Mitsubishi. And believe me, if you are a real enthusiast 2 years from now you might even find yourself in one...
this is a BIG thread with a bunch of posts, and I didn't read a single one.
I just wanted to post something so I have a record of the exact day I decided in my mind to trade my VIII for an X.

Sure, there are a couple reason why I've made the choice I did.
The biggest reason is because my VIII currently has almost 90k miles on it. I bought the car brand new with 4 miles on the odo and have treated it well. In return it has given me trouble free service and been a joy to drive/race the entire time, but I feel that its only a matter of time until things are going to start to need replacing and I don't have the time or desire to mess with it in the garage anymore like I used to.
the whole reason I got my VIII in the first place was because I was doing A LOT of travel with my previous company, so I needed a reliable, fun car to drive to and from different sites in any kind of weather. My EVO did that perfectly!
I've changed employers since then and now I don't do a fraction of the driving I used to do, so I'd like to have a nice new car again to start over with. Something with no mods, and a warranty, that I can just enjoy driving/racing bone and not have to worry about racking up usless miles from work.
I'm going to a local mitsu dealer tonight just to check some things out. I don't think I'll be buying anything for a couple of months though because #1) I want to return my car back to bone stock for trade in. and #2) i want to see what mitsu is releasing for the MR and ralliart. Besides, I think the current X GSR interior is worse then an economy car, it looks bare and empty. Also, I NEVER buy the first production run of any niche vehicle, too much hype and markup involved. I always wait until the dust settles and snag a good deal at the end of the month/year when dealers are at there neediest.

You can snag a great deal right now from SouthCoast Mitsu. Then, when its hand delivered to your front door you can scoff at all the people that say the car is 40k, when you paid 8k less then that.
I am definately excited for the X. I want to see how well the engine holds up to modding and how well the paddle shifting tranny holds up to the power increases too. If both of those can take abuse I will deinately trade my IX on a X. I have a bad left knee so the less clutch use I have to go through, the better. I enjoyed the paddle shifters on my uncle's 360 Challenge Stradale, so I can't see why I won't enjoy them on an Evo.

Because the car manages to be every bit as fun to drive without feeling like you're driving a tin can. I'm a bit older and can appreciate the fact that the car is more comfortable and the engine is smoother on longer drives. I also like the fact that I can't get it to understeer.
