I'll keep my IX until the wheels fall off before I trade it foolishly. Now if you don't even own an Evo and you will be mostly concerned with "REAL" track performance and not so much drag-racing, then I can't see how one would choose the IX over a X. I think there are quite a few folks out there like me that refuse to trade because the CT9A chassis is still an awesome vehicle.

Oh yeah, my transmission doesn't give me problems either.

I couldn't see trading up an 8 or a 9 for an X, but as a new car I think it's a great choice. I've loved every Evo and, while I like the 8 and 9 better than the X, I want a brand new car so I'll be getting the X. I had a roommate freshman year of college who was from Japan, and he raced an Evo 6.5 back home. He said it was a masterpiece, probably the best car he'd ever driven. We sit here in the States b*tching about VIII/IX vs X when the real beauties are probably the ones we'll never get our hands on.

I have an 8 and am waiting for the 2010 X mr or XI mr. I have the feeling we are going to get a variable geometry turbo at that point.

Question....what do you think racing car engines are made of? iron? They use aluminum or other metals....some not even metals all the way through (F1).

What do you think EVERY MAJOR RACING SERIES USES FOR TRANSMISSIONS (except NASCAR that only turns 1 direction)? Semi-automatics.

A car with a 5 speed and iron or steel block is closer to a Mom mobile than a racing car and that includes rally cars....in fact that duel clutch design is the closest to a rally gear box on the road.

SO if you were a "driving" oriented person, as you claim, you would appreciate that now you have a car that shifts faster than before and much more faster than you could do.....or do you think all the F1, IRL, CART, WTCC and WRC drivers are not "driving" oriented people

Im a big fan of the Evo X, i tihnk the new styl looks great and the 4b11t is showing great potential, trading in a VIII or IX seems unnessary because both are great cars and the X doenst offer anything so amazing that would justify trading in a VII or IX, but for someone like myself who couldnt afford an Evo last time around and bought an OZ rally instead, im very excited about buying a X

Your an idiot, they made the engine lighter, the car handle better, and gave it a rally inspired gearbox that shifts faster then a 5spd resulting in a car thats faster then a VIII or IX around the track. Now dont get me wrong, i love VIII and IX evos, but the X is just as diserving of the Evo title as all of its predecessors

Now The Evolution X is the first EVo in the US comes 99% as every where else in the world. And doesn't come in the first time the RS in the USA.

Also the example i made that is mean the X GSR can be lighter then the IX RS without problem . Getting it?

SO about your link:

THE JDM RS X is 1420kg = 3136 lbs
The USDM IX RS is 1460kg = 3219 lbs
http://www.japanvehicles.com/newcars...vo10/Evo10.htm
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/ro..._ix/index.html

how this is add up for you? THe JDM Evo X RS /as i stated/ is 83 lbs i repeat 83 llbs lighter then the USDM Evo IX RS.

And that was the point i made. thanks.
Just for you "dude" I'll quote yourself back at you

"Also keep it in mind the JDM IX RS is heavier then the X JDM RS. i think 20 some lb.."

My post simply pointed out your incorrect statement.

I made no statement about USDM IX RS, nor did you.

It may well be true that for the US, the X can be made lighter than your IX RS. However for the rest of the world, the X RS is significantly heavier than the real IX RS that was used worldwide for rallying as opposed to a trim level as it is in the US.

Lame... " My post simply pointed out your incorrect statement."

Since i did get the numbers wrong favor for the ten also... instead of 20 lbs lighter then the IX RS turned out to be 83LBS lighter.

Well at least you got my point, so i hope no more crying from other about the weight...

"Lame"? What are you twelve years old?

I have trouble following the rest of your reply as you seem to have trouble writing coherently. I think you're trying to say that X RS is 83lbs lighter than a IX RS, which it isn't.

As for "crying" about weight that's you projecting what you think I said in my original post. I simply stated that the JDM X RS is NOT lighter than a JDM IX RS which is what you claimed in your post. If you're going to sprout facts make sure you actually have them right.

I feel evo IX will be hard to beat just like evo 6.5 TME. I'm waiting till the bug are sort out but then again has competition now, the GTR! The evo and WRX is not the only turbo JDM cars anymore

Sorry you are right, i made a mistake i compered to the JDM IX RS. /i just read my original post back/
I was try to compare to the IX RS sold here in the US.
Since everybody try to say , how much heavier is the X vs the IX versions. Now in The us the IX rs as i posted IS heavier then the JDM X RS version. Why i can compere to that now? Because the model what we got knop in the US is very very close to the JDM version . Not like before.

But you right, i accidently put the JDM front of the IX RS in my original post, sorry for that.
