Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
sgt_petty dwn grade. U sound like the of the guys ovr at IWSTI with regards to the GR vs GD sedans. Stupid comment!! To the OP the car having some mileage on it shouldnt scare u off! I think it has been way overplayed about a new car being not worthy of purchase if it has more than delivery mileage. The car has a full manu warranty. My WW X had 300 miles when I took delivery. No issues, and I got a good deal! I say if u find the OB X that u want and it has a few miles on it, go for it!

Don't let the haters discourage you, it's just people trying to justify their purchase and people trying to convince themselve not to get the newer model. Get what you like both cars are badass. As far as the whole 100 miles in the car i wouldn't worry about it the 4b11t can take some abuse.
By classic do you mean dated 90's econobox, boxy styling complete with Altezza taillights? The EVO X is an upgrade in every area. The IX is a great car but it's old and people are moving on.
Your right but it's like something I'm big about. 100 miles that's like a used car to me./
This can all be misunderstood by saying each of us is trying to defend our choice in cars, which might be true. I picked the IX because in 2006 that is all they had
but I considered switching it up to an X, even test drove one. It just seems like more a lower luxury car with some get up as opposed to the raw power of the IX. To me, when I wanted to buy an Evo, I wanted it for the performance aspects over the luxury of the car.. And I think if you are talking about more streetable performance over luxury you would come to the IX hands down. It all has to do with what you are going for, and is a personal preference. I don't really agree with the outdated 90's econobox line though. Have you even looked out on the roads and seen the huge amount of normal lancers that are out there? I see more current generation lancers that look like X's than I can count! I am having a hard time telling the difference between the two! Also, the "its old and people are moving on".... I see more people wanting to go from an X to an IX though because they want the performance now over the little luxuries.
A little food for thought.
Technically yes but the X is actually a fair size car and next to an IX looks like a more substantial vehicle as it's wider longer, etc. The IX is so narrow and from behind just looks like a 90's ****box in comparison. Of course the smaller dimensions make the IX feel more nimble but in reality 75% of EVO owners probably use them as daily drivers and the X is such a superior daily driver and handles better on a twisty track so the only way the IX is better is if your plans are for it to be a weekend car and plan on doing alot of drag racing. Then I agree the IX is the better choice. However if you plan on making your daily commutes with the car and occasional tracking I there is no way anyone can say the IX is the better car.
Of course it all depends on the individual as some may be in love with the classic 90's look of the IX but classic to some is dated to others. Some younger owners that have been driving uncomfortable, slammed vehicles all their young life may prefer the rawness of the IX as well but 30+ aged drivers may prefer the slightly more comfortable and liveable X.

one small thing
i honestly think the livability between the two is greatly exaggerated.. a few of my friends who've ridden in both say they can't even notice much difference.. that said i have progressive springs, bilstein shocks, and one of these

makes the drives a lot nicer.. in any case calling the X a superior daily driver is a bit of a stretch... the only things I wish I had were auto up windows instead of just auto down (for tolls) and a longer 5th gear for highway noise, which I understand the X isn't exactly ideal for

just as a perfomance difference

In fact, in the livability has bigger differences then the performance between the two. Specially for DD or light track use
