talking about airbags, the difference between the premium and base gtr is the side curtain airbags.

i jus think mitsu went cheap.. before the evos were a completely different car than the lancer so i guess it would make production a bit expen$ive. However in 08 mitsu got the bright idea "Hey lets be lazy and just grab a lancer and beef it up" ya i kno an evo is a beefed up lancer but WHY ADD THE WEIGHT!!? why fix whats not broken... Its the 21 century! aren't there lighter ways to make a car safe?

take the heavy out the equation, add a Six Speed, and a wiper! then we got a deal!

hey i got an idea! how bout someone mixes the best of both worlds...

get an VIII-IX and swap a 4b11 since its lighter than the 4G63 and make a light weight monster and then somehow get the AYC in an VIII-IX with the 4b11!

what you think?

The next time you're under the hood of either car, take note of the direction the turbocharger is facing...

i dont know i didn't drove the X with the cusco.
But , as far as i know usually racers leave the AYC in the car. But they do upgrade the rear diffs.
Like the Eu VIII and IX.
Now the X is too new, so i dont have any feed back on that.
The future will tell.
As soon as you are touch the suspension and anything is changes the handling , the biggest factor is a set up and adjustments.
So there is many many different factor involved to get a good handling. Example:
You can have a most advanced coil over set up if you have a bad adjustment on it. You might even will find the factory car run faster on track then you.
ETC.

So the comparision is always the best if you talking about handling between two model is a factory car.

That is my opinion. about that.

I think the worst case scenario they will pull out the Evo line and keep selling them everywhere else.

Also i do think we are in depression , so very unfair to compere the 05 -06 vs 08 selling numbers.
the big trouble started i mean big in 07 ...

also the X is achive something what the IX or earlier versions cant even dream of.

http://www.iihs.org/ratings/ratingsbyseries.aspx?id=354

"Mitsubishi announced today that the Mitsubishi Lancer has earned the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick award. The Mitsubishi Lancer received a top score in all three safety tests conducted by the IIHS. "
http://www.zercustoms.com/news/Mitsu...fety-Pick.html

and besides that after a year is more impressing the track numbers then the VIII did in 03... or the IX in 05...
Think about that for a second
this is funny, when i bought my evo my insurance went up $110 per month....before the wrecks in it of course it wasnt a evoX, it was a IX but still thought it was funny

I honestly was against the X for quite a while after reading some articles, BUT looking at the safety info on my IX wasn't very good and that made me decide to get a X. I was a little discouraged at some of the numbers, but with the Vishnu piggyback and 3" catback running mid 12's for a grand that is all I need to have some fun, and still have a nice daily driver. Also when I looked at the X in person I REALLY liked it. Robevo RS's posts have also helped me a lot... he comes off as being full of it at first ( no offense man ) but convinced me to not be to biased about the X's.

As far as the weight issue goes... I would much rather feel safer in the car and it be a few 10th's slower than have a broken pelvis, leg, etc which were the common injuries in the 06's. With time there will be a whole lot of parts available to save weight, so that won't be an issue for long.

While we're on the weight issue... why don't they use titanium in place of some of these heavier parts? It's not THAT expensive and it's very light and super strong... just wondering.
