This argument will never end. Only about 5% of the people on here drive evos to its fullest potential. The rest nut swing on others accomplishments.

This argument is only raging on cause mitsu did not make the X better enough than the 9... and they are charging too much for the X at the same time... the consumer is not happy... EVo sales show that.

should be:

RA = 20K
GSR = 26K
MR = 34K

if mitsu did that they would regain a good name and sell some cars...

???

the Evo is twice as much everywhere else in the world. And they even sell more.
I think the worst case scenario they will pull out the Evo line and keep selling them everywhere else.

Also i do think we are in depression , so very unfair to compere the 05 -06 vs 08 selling numbers.
the big trouble started i mean big in 07 ...

also the X is achive something what the IX or earlier versions cant even dream of.

http://www.iihs.org/ratings/ratingsbyseries.aspx?id=354

"Mitsubishi announced today that the Mitsubishi Lancer has earned the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick award. The Mitsubishi Lancer received a top score in all three safety tests conducted by the IIHS. "
http://www.zercustoms.com/news/Mitsu...fety-Pick.html

and besides that after a year is more impressing the track numbers then the VIII did in 03... or the IX in 05...
Think about that for a second

I'm actually pretty excited for the 09 evo x. Hopefully all the minor problems will be fixed, and everything running properly it should be a step above the 08!

you have very valid points about the safety of the X which is a requirement hence the retool and production of the X. but 07 IX anywhere else had side airbags on the recaros. if it is about safety, the tme or the mirage(US) where it is based had poor ratings vs the CT9A based cedia frame. go figure, the tme is most desired except we cannot get it here in the US.

if safety is your pick there are other choices out there.

as always the next is better
But i think the major step up will be a XI.

The 09 i think will get a fixed ECU so will be like the 08 with 2nd factory reflash.
And that should bring the 09 X above 300 hp
I hope those 09 X test's will be looking better.
Since all the X test, came out with no ecu factory reflash at all... So there was a lots of issue because the factory ECU tune. {thumbup**

i would never give my IX up for an X. period.

X doesnt have the evo look. and i think the evo IX out preforms the X by a long shot.

i hate this safety BS. LIke many us. car have a plastic crash beam... I saw it my own eye.
But the evo needs a 40+ lb metal one...
The Lotus dont need a bumper, never mind crash beam..
Al BS. ANd the biggest is crash beam and the day time running light.

because they are wortless as soon as you lower the car. They are good for only bumper to bumper collision.
Not to mention only in US...
Also that was a 100 page debate about CB's. Absolutly BS. They are rated under 8 or even less MPH impact.
So it is nothing just goverment and insurance deal.

The air bags, abs, and the reinforced body etc is a real deal for safety.
Not a crash beam.
