Isn't this the right Thread to bash the X? I mean its called Evo X vs EVO VIII IX.. This isn't the thread for you if all you want to hear are sweet nothings about the X wispered in your ear.. this is a VS type thread... If not here then where?? If the X's want a place to freely express there thoughts without rejection they need to go to another thread.. like X- circle J#$k. or something like that.. If bootez wants to vent on what he thinks about the X compared to the others.. isnt this the place?

i would say:
you can tell your opinion here , other wise you get closed out from the X forum other threads. Kinda one side only, thinking...
Might be a cause of this, the not so great selling on the X, so we dont need uncomfortable questions attitude anymore...
But i would say boostez raised some good questions ... And pointed out some good things, specially for the over helmed new evo owners.
I know some of those are not good to hear, specially if you just invested your first Evo etc.
I like the idea, when you can defenned you opinion and prove somebody wrong, then just simply close him out. Specially ,when you put facts behind it, the other are not. "I'm telling you" -"My body was a witness" sometimes is not enough. I wasn't really go into Boostez facts or opinions , so i don't know how many facts he put behin hes opinions.
But without him defenietly a X nirvana this forum. Well the humbling feelings will come for most of us, on the track later then.
i think is better for everybody if you have an otherside , even if its sounds radical for some...
So we not going to end up all kind of fake bealive's ,like beating the Corvette's from roll...

 

Um, the VIII and IX didn't sell particularly well either. Now combine it with a looming recession and it's no surprise that a performance car isn't selling well. You're reading way too much into the content of this forum.

 

One more time. There is no restrictions on comments and critique of the X in this forum. (with the exception of trolls and no account statements). The only issue was one member's excessive posting that resulted in him being the issue and not the car. We have done that in other forums when discussions are being dominated by one person (positive or negative). Thanks.

You should tell that to Noize...it's clear that he loves his X which is leading to his over-moderating of the X forums. Is it good or bad? That's for you to decide and manage as a team of moderators.

There are always grey areas of moderation; some you will agree with and some not. Any forum, particular one dedicated to a new model, is difficult to moderate as emotions run high for new owners and those not as impressed. Plus this forum was a "DMZ" for months prior to the X release. The forum was created to allow new owners and prospective new owners to discuss the car. The trick is to balance the purpose of the forum with the expectations of all members as best we can.

We try to ensure that selfishness, incivility, and unaccountable opinion don't choke meaningful exchange. (i.e. trolls, drive by "X suxs"). That of course is subjective as hell. And will remain so as long as we use human beings to moderate. If you feel a post or discussion was over moderated please PM any supermod or Admin and we will review it. The content of the forums belong to you the members. Right now we are consciously giving the new owners a bit more room to discuss their new cars (both good and bad). I honestly feel that is the right approach. Thanks.

And I disagree....Noize is doing a great job here and is acting very professional in an extremely active area of the forums. If anything, he's been generous in letting some questionable posts stand in the interest of letting everybody voice their opinions. If you'd like, I can volunteer to help Moderate the X forums......but I'm much pickier than he is....

 

I dont feel that the forums are being over moderated at all. In fact, if anything, they are being under moderated. If the X forums where not part of the VIII-IX forums, then this conflict wouldn't even exist in the form that it is today. When someone buys a new car, of course they think its the best car they have ever owned. If they didn't, they wouldn't have bought the car in the first place. Its unrealistic for anyone to think that someone that purchased a new car wouldn't be excited about the purchase, regardless of cost.

This is supposed to be a community of people sharing that excitement. I find it quite disturbing when a bunch of people get together to express their happiness with the car, and its capabilities, to only be bashed by people that haven't even made an attempt to experience the car. Of course people are going to be offended by that activity, and it seems to happen a lot in here for some reason.

At the point that sharing information isn't possible due to the overwhelming negativity from people that haven't spent anytime with the X controls the entire forum, people will leave and go elsewhere. I think the mods and staff recognize this, and what everyone is seeing now is the controls being put into place to keep this place civilized.

I'm not going to clutter this thread about moderators since that's a whole different subject. But, to answer your point above, I'll leave you with this post below from Noize. Not necessarily "very professional" to tell a member that they were just "Pwnt" and that he'll "sticky this thread just for the haters." There are more just like this one

 

EVOX would not have sold well any way cause it is priced out of its established market and has more gimmicks but does not perform as well as the older version.

 

i beg to differ, the current model is attacting a new group of buyers as well as the performance oriented group. many people are giving the evo x a second look since they've revamped the spartan interior from the evo viii and evo ix.

as far as pricing, its equalivent to its competition the STi. i paid 35k otd for my sti, and i paid 33k otd for my X. not bad in my book. the 40k you see is mostly just dealer mark up. check out pricing from south coast mitsu.

 

40k is for a fully loaded car with every single option. Very few people are buying that model.
