Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
"Also, regardless of your (or my) intended usage of the cars, 99% of Evos won't see the track."
like any other sport car.
And about irrational and immature. When the Evo came in the US for most guys was a $30k lancer ,but they brought them and sold out fast.... Why? because the racing heritage...
And yes the Evo enthusiasts are less immune for the surrounding economy...
Like in asia the evo cost twice, and sometimes almost the triple then here... And they dont make that much money there. But they selling 3 times more evos there then north america all together! EU selling twice as much evos, but the car cost almost or twice as much like here. And in russia the people doesnt make as nearly as much like here but still the car selling like crazy in double price... You want me to to continue? Oh and dont forget the gas prices in those places compare to the us....
Just the word enthusiast ,should make you less care if you need to pay $100 more or even less /month. If you are really trust and want the car.
So there is the task for the X guys to make the car proven, in US.
like any other sport car.

I'd also love to see some statistical evidence for your assertions regarding Evo sales in other countries.

The idea that being an enthusiast somehow transcends basic budgeting and fiscal impossibilities is downright stupid and ridiculous. If you cannot understand this most utterly basic concept that even enthusiasts are affected by inflation, limited available credit, and stumbling stock market and housing prices, this conversation isn't worth anyone's time.

since you call me stupid and ridiculous, other then put some smart comment and you acting like the 5 year old. If you dont see what i'm talking about, you just fall the newbie category for me , so useless time to argue with you, who dont even try to understand the other people point.
Cheers.
google it if you want it, not that hard.

Your point is utterly senseless as you consider anyone who is an enthusiast to not be bound by any budgetary constraints which is an adolescent approach to car ownership, regardless of how much you enjoy them. I also find it ironic that someone who has been a member of this forum for 4 years fewer than I calling me a "newbie."
There is no way in Hell I am trading my VIII for a X, First I do not like the way they look, kind of a mazda 6 x volvo s60 cross breed or something. I like the 4G63 very much, I think that saving, I believe, 36lbs to trade an Iron block for the Aluminum one, that may not have the same power holding potential sucks. The dual clutch is cool, kind of: I get it, its faster, I still don't like that it makes the Evo accessible to people that don't know how to drive Manual Trans. Which is me just being pig headed, no real reason, and I will never own an automatic, doesnt feel like driving to me. Also the dual clutch trans doesn't seem to be holding up higher powered cars than stock. Although I am sure someone can fix that. All the reading I have done says the car has a watered down driving feel, that it takes away from driver connection; if I want an Audi I will go buy another Audi, I sold it for the feel of the Evo 8, tight, direct, rough edged, hard nosed and blazing fast. The most important reason, I have WAAAYYY TOOOOO MUCH MONEY in my Evo VIII to trade it. Did I mention the X is Ugly.
I must agree with Rob on this one.. I am not going to spend the money on a 35k car without it being proven.. i see theses dyno numbers but no track times.. and no ones upgraded the turbo or tuned the ECU yet.. these are big (IF) facters still to be worked out.. better handling is just not enough for me to jump ship and tade in the 8. also like the fact that the 8 as the longer gears.. i dont really want to roll 75mph at 4k RPM .. but bad econ or not i'd go buy one and up my payment if i see some good evidence to do so.. i dont mine diging a credit hole and jumping in it if its worth it.. like any die hard evo lover would..

For what it's worth, there are plenty of track times in popular press as well as on this site showing the X is faster in the hands of most drivers.

Did you have anything worthwhile to contribute, or was that it?
And seriously, you drive an 8 and you're calling the X ugly?!?
the 4G63 in the lancer got history. So it is respectable.
All those comments about the X is a more mature car and grown up. I see it a different way, how the grown up car exist a year ago and the less mature is over 14 years old?
I mean really? The grown up and mature for me is : experienced...
Joke a side i will have the X when i finished my IX RS. I want to build the full race car for fun. If its done ,then i will get a X or the XI as a DD.
And no, a would never trade in my RS for a X.

X FTW! If you want the raw feeling that the 9 gives than just turn off asc and you're ready for a handling experience that a 9 just can't give. Slightly slower in the straights, though. It all depends on what you're into. Style wise there's no comparison, in my opinion.
