As in ugly? You being serious?

Not to mention that the X will handily outperform a '99 Carrera 4 in any reasonable performance measure as well and will be cheaper to run and maintain in the process.

I test drove the X yesterday at the dealer. I couldn't get on it much and the distance was short (only about a mile). I did feel the notchy shifter. I love the torque, but hate the top end power. My MR2 would beat it in a straightline at this point.. However, the car doesn't feel any heavier than my Evo8. Steering in my Evo8 is more precise but not significantly so.. Overall, it felt like like my 8 except slower and more refined. I'm sure the car is much faster than my 8 on a road course, but that alone doesn't justify me going back into debt...so...no X for me.

try to get a drive in the reflashed X. You will love it.
I got the same feeling about the X. before the flash. I do not understand why dealers still selling X's with the old ecu map.

Why the Evo X and Not Past Evo's

I hear a lot of good things and a lot of bad things about the 10. One of the questions I have is why do people say no to the Evo X because of all the electronics the X has vs. past models. IE the S-WAC? Opinions but keep it clean, I own a 01 RS Eclipse. This is a huge jump for me.

The only reason im having a hard time adjusting is because of the new look. The weight dont bother me, but i think could of done a better job redesigning the car.

I don't like it either. It's different but I don't think it'll ever grow on me. I think the front is nice but the rear with the slanted lights looks weird and the diffuser on the rear bumper makes any aftermarket single exhaust look dumb. I've personally never liked Dual Exhaust on any import car especially a 4-banger. Just my .02

If I ever got one I'd have to get a different rear bumper and black out the headlights, oh and order it with the Aero Kit.

reverse the roles of your question. i think you might the answer.

however, every precent that we encouter, that will always change.

I picked the IX because the X came out two years too late for me. But if that were now, I would complete process of getting WW MR, W/O the dealer infused 3k market adjustment.

I want the AYC, but whereas i quickly became bored with my previous (RSX-S, 01 SC S2k, 03 350z- all one at a time, all with no less 10k in mods. going as high as high 70s in the S2k ( pics if interested)), I am so surprised to feel feeling you get in a car that puts a cork ever demand you would consider in a baseline car for its price. The X is probably the same machine with a much short warranty, lower fuel mileage, and highly techno. dependent.

But, as a X owner might attest - and that i can not confirm- there more than many new attributes of the X that still keep you hooked. The X is showing great gains from virtual cheap mods; imagine 350+hp without touching cams, just tuning and simlpe bolt ons.

That kind of underdog, or underrated attitude breads confidence, and i like many will find that X is a good replacement to the IX, but i think many will agree that the IX provided the main point of translate between what i called old school technology, and modern technology.

My only dissapointed with the new EVO X is its warranty. Do you want to know a MAJOR determining factor for the buyer the evo ix? yeh, its that bad *** 10yrs/100,000, warranty. Regaurdless of what the high warranty period represents - marketing ploy or a red flag on reliability/ quality, or does the high period suggest the car is incredibly reliable?

Well this is what answered that for me: 9k is the most i get from a single pair of OE advans, did first major break maitenance at 28k miles, immediately following brake change, service spots peeling brembos and a week later i had a new install for frizzle. hehe

godda love that.

anyhow my entire point can be summed into an understand that EVO with the 4g63 engine, are an entirely new line of breed with very similar goal. Their differences will ultimately that these two machine rely on advatages that differ one another; in a way, both are flawed, and not. hehe

So getting back on topic. I honestly could careless about the warranty, Performance for the price i pay is what catches my eye. Previous Evo owners like the evo 8 and 9 better then the 10. Are we looking at a serious change in performance? I see the GSR is cheaper then the 09 and 08 MR editions .....

I think both generations had their pros and cons! I really like the 9 but the X won my heart over. I like everything about the car, however the cons consist of a touchy clutch. crunching syncros and hanging revs. All together the car is great, I don't regret buying the X what so ever! As for the 10/100k warranty, my bank wouldn't finance me unless Mitsu backed the power train for 10/100k, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
