on the sticker price at the lot....msrp isn't what they sell them for...not here anyways...they only have like one on the lot...mine was 36k and the x mr is like 45k...i can go take a picture of the sticker at the lot if you don't believe me....u gotta count all the extra crap like taxes, floor mats, etc....i've seen a gsr x at another lot with a price of 40k....i mean yeah it had extras but i mean who buys an evo and doesn't get fog lights, aero package, etc.?....basically if you buy a gsr with aero package,hid lights, fog lights , etc... it's gonna cost more than what i paid for my ix mr that had all that on it already..and you still don't get the bilsteins...lol....make sense?


as for the other guy i'm comparing mr to mr not mr to gsr....meaning you change gears in the ix mr where as the x mr can be driven in auto(less driver input)...and i didn't say the x WAS a luxury car...i said it was heading that way...or trying to

 

Ok, I guess I should stop using the local market here in Japan to base my statements on this website on. GSR Premium's (the MR of Japan) go for MSRP or lower.

 

oh oke . yes in that case , the new MR is good to go for those who cant or dont want to shift.

Your prices are still way over head as far as the Evos going around here.
And NJ is not famous to being cheap.

ok sorry i was a bit off...went by the dealer today...the mr is 41,XXX...almost 42k....that's still 5k more than the ix mr was...the thing that kinda pissed me off was when i saw that gsr for like 39,XXX....i was like....wow....i mean the ix mr is a great car but even it's not worth 36k....should have been like 28k...maybe 30k tops.....i guess that's the price you pay for buying a car built in japan...lol


lol...i like how they said the mr x is for those that have graduated from boy racer in that video meaning the gsr was for boy racers.....if i did get an x it would be the gsr...does that mean i'm a boy racer? lmao....also notice in that video how that cartoon guy is talking about bmw,lexus,mercedez,audi...etc....how the x is going towards that kind of crowd...that's what i was talking about the luxury crap...lol

if i was gonna get a new evo i would wait around for like the evo XII....that way they'll have all the bugs worked out...at least i would wait for the XI but we all know that like the evo 3,6, and 9 are the best ....lol

oh i gotta add this...here in bama there might be one evo on the lot at a time...usually there are none....so they don't come off at all on the price...not even now during the credit crisis...if the sticker says 42k then that's what u have to pay...they will come off on all the other mistu cars and trucks though....but not on the evo since they only have one for sale at a time

 

the x looks hot infront, but the rear tails kill the look. i personally think the 8&9 evos are more agressive looking cause in america we only had those 2 evos, and if you had an evo, people knew it was an evo. with the x, it shares almost the same body style as the lancer, except for the wide body, and they look so similar, it might slip you by. but with the 8&9, ther was no copy cat, even when someone tried, you knew it was a regular lancer. the 8&9 are unique apart from the x.

 

+1, IMHO I think the front kind of resembles a Skyline, but the rear just totally threw the look off. Completely ugly if you ask me. Looks like a fat guy squinting.

 

That's kinda funny because I paid 34K for my GSR and the only option I didn't get was the Aero Kit. But that is because I purchased it from a area where the supply was a bit above the demand. It is no one's fault that you live in "Bama" where they only sell one Evo at a time.

Do you rely on marketing and advertising to make up your mind for you in all situations? So because you saw some commercial about boy racers you get offended that you are being grouped into a classification of popular culture? We have big spoilers on the back of our cars, guess what people will think we are.

As for the IX being so much better than the X as you say, well I would rather not embarrass you, so stay inside your deluded little world and keep entertaining us with your juvenile and poorly thought out comments.

 

The X is better

 

i think the older 8&9 style lancers and evos looked more alike. the widebody wasnt as obvious with the older ones. i can usually tell from the front of the older styles almost instantly if its lancer or evo but the rear, i see a lot of lancers with evo wings and aftermarket tails and rear bumpers/lip kits which makes it a lot harder to tell at glance.

with the new lancers its harder to tell from a far but passing one on the road you can tell amost instantly because the front and rear bumper between the 2 are 90% different and have almost no similarities

 

That's strange, I can normally instantly tell the old lancers just based on body, tires, bumper, tail lights, etc.
But I DO have a hard time with the new lancers, especially the GTS, it takes a while, at least til I'm close to tell. Not to mention the Ralliart!
It's probably because we see our own cars every day, so we know the difference instinctively.
I do think the X's are styled more aggressively, and it's the body is quite tall-ish. It's "too much car" as my girlfriend always says.

 

i traded my 8 for my X because stock for stock, i love my X so much more!!!

 

The evo X has more parts in common with the 08' lancer GTS than the VIII/IX has with the previous gen lancers it's so obvious, you can even get an evo with a GTS spoiler.

 

i cant even lie when i say i get don't annoyed by the lancer owners relocating their license plate to the side and painting the middle piece of the front bumper so it looks like an evo like thats cool. its not cool at all and when they see me in my evo they look at me like they broke some type of law. almost like a bentley pulling up to a 300c awkward cus we both know you're a poser.I believe its b/c our cars look so much a like especially when people are doing what i previously said. sometimes i have to look twice like is that a x....oh just a x wannabe. and just think the ralliart is 10x worst.
