Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
lol. it's because i DO know what rob does - that i can hardly believe he considers that to be real racing. i can't figure out if you guys are trolling me or actually believe it.
i bet a stock evo, 9 or 10, NOT drifting the entire course would be faster than all of those runs. so yea, i say SCCA results are more legitimate than the show they put on. or if it makes you feel better, i'll say that the evo x is a much much better drift car than the evo 9 is lol.. but that drifting isn't the fastest way around a track.
and again, i'm not even saying the X is slower, not an evo, whatever - if it makes you feel better, i will even say that the X is the fastest evo of all time - but I STILL wouldn't call that show a real race lol. get your head out of your bias
and finally, i believe these are some real results that DO show multiple times the Evo X beats the Evo 9 - of the very guys in that show. would have made much more sense if Rob had post these up instead of that. so as far as saying the video above was a real race.... no

Why Evo x over evo 8-9
Hey guys, I was just wanting your guys' opinion on why you like or dislike the evox better than the previous gen. Like is it the look or the handling or whatever it may be. Thank you and I hope for awesome answers!!
From a realistic standpoint, availability is a BIG deal for people trying to decide between getting an VIII/IX and a X. The previous models were made from 2003-2006, compared to the current models being made from the 2008 model year to now... the X has been produced and sold for nearly twice as many years and is still available new.
That is true, availability and not buying a beat up older evo plays a big part. But I was also curious as to people who had both and driven both, and why they like one over the other more also.
I think the X looks bigger, more adult looking. I used to LOVE the look of the 03-06 evo's/ In fact, since I saw one, I wanted one. But then the x came out, and I stopped caring for the look of the older model. But hey, they are all BA, good choice no matter which way.
because I can't find a new VIII or IX.
X is a great car on its own though.
My X MR is a great DD that's refined out of the box ... looks grown up, good power, kick *** handling (far better than VIII or IX).. and DCT is a great transmission...
But, I do always miss the rawness of my boyish VIII and IX's that owned not too long ago...

Personally, I like how the X looks over the 8/9. The X has a more aggressive front end, it's blunt shape rather than the pointy "pedestrian"/ricer look of the previous. For the most part, it's just newer. It has better tech and upgrades than the one before it, and the styling is more modern.
If I had a new IX or a new X I'd choose the X, just cause.

The X if you want to look cool with fancy info screen and damn large mirrors that can't see **** when making sharp left. The VIII/IX for that raw feeling of shut-up and drive.
I own and daily drive them both. They're different. The VIII is more agile, feel lighter, easier tossing around when approaching the limit. The X feels heavier, but sure-feet handling, feel quicker on those on ramp curves but I feel that it's not as easy to toss around like the VIII.
It's hard to describe in words. You have to drive them both to know.
