From: Somewhere in DA hood.....
From what I've read its supposed to only come with a six-speed manual Tremec T56 transmission and a the sweet as Z06 LS1 engine producing 400 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque!!! The engine looks kick ***

Also it supposed to kill the Krazy audi RS6 and the Jaguar XR!!!
The only thing in its way is the M5 which is a Krazy beast itself!!! We'll see how this puppy does, I am sure there will be ALOT of aftermarket toys for it, specially with that engine in it......

Doc-
You for got the E55, and S600 monnsters from MB that runt low 12's stock, the M5 is old and under powered when compared with the RS6 and E55 thats why they are replacing it. the XJR never really ahd a chance but its also not marketed at the same people.

I don't think it is going to "kill" the RS6, not sure where you heard that. Different clientele, RS6 is AWD, 450 hp, and will likely be a much better built car judging by past GM build quality, I would sure take the RS6 anyday.

CTS-V gets my vote as a car worth owning. Unfortunately Frigging GM dealerships tend to be so condescending when talking about limited production cars like the new GTO and CTSV that it makes me want to avoid them altogether!!

Thank you for making my point.

M5: $75-80k
E55 AMG: $80k
S600: $125k
RS6: $85k

Yes, they are all faster than the CTS-V by varying degrees, but you're missing one thing...

CTS-V: $45,000

Sounds like a pretty good deal...

Sounds like a good deal if it wasn't a POS GM product that will leave the lot with more problems than the others will have in their first year of existence. I have owned a lot of GM products, but never again. Their POS rate is 100%, no matter which line or what the price. Sometimes with cars you get what you pay for. This comparison is vaguely familiar to one being made right now with our Evos; that being the SRT-4. Is it close in some performance numbers; yes. Is it close in terms of a complete vehicle; not so much. I'm sure Cadillac will sell all they want at over sticker, but it is just plain not in the same league as those other cars.
