that first z is not a bad deal. it has a desireable head and the bigger 280 bottom end with it. with the right crank and a bore w/some new pistons, you could have a high compression 3.0l motor. grab a used set of triple webers and you've got a pretty powerful, light weight car. plus, it looks like theres already been some type of conversion to the small 240 bumpers and thus alot of weight has been taken off.
building up the engine like that would be pretty cool. Or running lower compression and turbocharging would be fun too. I would think parts for this car are pretty hard to come by. you got any good websites i can check out and research?
miatas, civics, 240sx's, old school corolla's would be nice as well. If you want something cheap though it has got to be a civic, they are a dime a dozen, but they just can't be beat for the potential they have and cheapness of doing it. don't go with the super expensive jdm parts like a bunch of people (tools) do and rice it out, but build up the engine and suspension. They are reliable and great all year round.
pm me any time. parts are actually not that hard to get since nissan made a ton of these cars. turbos have been done, but you'd be doing it with a carb unless you grabbed a zx turbo motor. here's one of the better sites for parts and if you call them, they are incredibly helpful with tech support.

and yes he really did say that. Amongst other ridiculous things like
"you can always count on Americans to do the right thing.....after they've tried everything else"
and my second favourite
woman says to him "if you where my husband i would poison your coffee
his reply "if you where my wife, I'd drink it"

Man I love the old Z's, classic and so ahead of its time! A few yrs back I almost picked up an old turbo to build into an autox/track car, then I had kids. LOL. Good luck with what ever u chose, I vote a 1g on E85 or a turbo Z.

i'm not so sure that's as good of a deal as it sounds. a non-turbo 300 in that condition is worth maybe $3200 and the 280 probably less---like $2700. if you want a 300 project, i currently have a white/tan '90 2+2 with 115k that i'm parting with. pm me if you're interested.
