Selling Evo, getting a TSX

Well the I've finally made up my mind, and I'm getting a 2010 TSX 4cyl. auto with tech package. I need something that is cheaper to maintain, better on gas, and more comfortable for longer drives, so unfortunately the Evo is going bye-bye. I am deff going to miss her. Any of you guys checked these new TSX's out? They have some pretty ridiculous features with the tech package.

Too bad. Acuras are good cars. They don't have the spirit of the Evo though.

The TSX is a nice ride. Hopefully you don't crave any performance though :P

My WAPCE has a TSX type-S w/ tech package (V6, not sure if its still called type-S). Its alright I guess. You are definitely selling a ton of performance for a little luxury. Just make your exhaust quieter, do some sound deadening work on the cockpit, get a flip up nav screen and you should feel a little more comfortable. Thats what I did. I understand your want to change it up a bit, but when you push the gas on that TSX (hers will be better than yours because I think hers is a 6 banger and not the standard 4) it goes 0 to 60 in about a weekend or so....

You will miss the Evo. Make yours more comfortable and keep it. Just my .02

What sort of sound deadening did you do to your Evo? The only aspect of my car I don't like is road noise and general white noise from wind, etc. I'm putting on a set of Nitto Invo tires, which are supposed to be dead quiet, but the other noise still irrritates me.

If you're going to get a TSX, get the older, better looking one. The new Acuras are all equally hideous.

If i was you i would get the TL but both TL and TSX are very slow compare to the evo, and TL's are even V6 with 246 HP supposedly..

Hey OP, just wanted to say that this is YOUR decision...do what you want to do. Personally, I've owned close to 40 different vehicles (including motorcycles), and my evo is my favorite I've had by far. I do understand the quest for comfort, and there is no way you would ever be able to make the evo (8-9) match the TSX in this aspect. I have heard the X is more luxurious, comfortable, and quiet, while maintaining good performance. Not sure how they compare in price to the TSX, but I might look into the X if I were you before you pull the trigger.

I don't think the X is going to work for him if he's looking for cheaper to maintain and good gas mileage.

OP, even though the TSX is ball sweat slow it sounds like it would be good for what you're looking for. Personally, I think its one of the better cars in its class. I'm still not a big fan of the styling but it has grown on me.

I got a good deal on a huge pack of Hushmat. It really helped quiet down the exhaust noise as well as any residual noise coming from the engine bay and trunk. It took a while to install it all, but it made a noticeable difference.

Back on point. Good luck with your choice OP.

The previous generation TL Type-S were pretty quick. That would be a good combination of luxury and power. And they also look better than whatever acura is trying to do with their cars now.

JFuego777 hit the nail on the head. You WILL miss the Evo - and there is no vehicle like it. There is no other car out there with that exact same performance/price/presence combination.

HOWEVER, you are doing the absolute right thing FOR YOU. You've got to live within your means. At the very least you can say you've had the privilege of being an Evo owner.

Personally, the last model year TSX, before the design team started snorting crack, was my fav. Acura vehicle. You'll like it a lot. Enjoy it
