e46 M3 vs boxter s
e46 M3 vs boxter s
has any body own either? these are the two cars that i'm looking at. weekend driver only, no winters. i might try some road racing as fun. i'm just looking for some real world info. i joined a forum for each car and of course, each said that their car was better.
Boxster is a ***** car
M3...eh, you will probably be disappointed in the performance. For a weekender maybe, because you are going have "M" problems, and get ready to pay "M" repair bills...

Boxster's are without question a much better value then Caymans. Caymans hold their value unusually well, and it is basically the same engine in the same platform with the same performance.
Definitely go for the Boxster S.
Sorry to see all these "chick car" comments, but let me put it this way. Boxster S will be a good car if you don't care about what other people think of your car. Just look at any review by any car magazine and they all say the same - Boxster is unmatched for driver involvement and fun factor.
E46 will have more 'street cred', so if other people's opinion of your car matters go for that one.
Or to put it another way, the E46 will be a great handling dude magnet, the Boxster S will be a great handling chick magnet.

i know the cayman gets a tad more hp over the boxster (like 5-10hp) and its stiffer so slightly better around the corners. but it is more $ than the boxster
