Evo X vs GT500
I disagree.... you can compare cars however you want really. By mpg, leg room, cup holders, ergonomics, power, mod-ability, handling ,etc.
You can't just come in here telling us to not talk about it....
Even people discussing cup holders might hate all the small cup holders in current cars, but really *love* some van that has a big cubby hole where those aftermarket cup holders that hold bigger drinks fit.
(Yes this was a conversation I heard at a grooming shop where an overweight groomer complained about small drink holders in all new cars)
Same thing going on here.... But we're modding for power and handling. Which car is easier to get what you want? It's really a valid discussion if you ask me.

No need to be nasty, I think it's a valid point. If you are going to modify your car anyway, I think it makes sense to talk about easy modifications to one vs. the other, especially if modifying one is a fraction of the cost of buying the other.
Ultimately all these discussions about performance are meaningless at a fundamental level, because all it takes is a tire change and all the numbers go right out the window.

Just want to say whats wrong with loving the car you own i am an "evo fanboy" no shame in that and just because i would pick it over other higher rated cars doesnt mean im not a car enthusiast either yes everyone knows there is always a better car but why should that stop you from loving a certain car. Well back on topic i dont have much input to put it in for this evo x vs gt500 since all i know the gt500 is what ive read on it but i can say its very impressive and a huge improvement over the previous models , cant put these new mustangs in the same category as the older models lol. I am interested in hearing from the op though did you ever make a final decision and what points drove you there?
no promises on that, depends on where he lives. With both evos I have had a lot of girls hit on me, when I had an Audi RS4, girls thought my car was boring aside from a few euro girls.
this is a very important aspect OP shouldnt overlook lol

Gt500 there's less parts that can go wrong
Evo- broken fuel relay = blown motor
Fuel pressure hose loose = blown motor
Bad tune = blown motor
And a bare bone evo x is slow, add a tune and the warranty is out the window. Fixing an evo isn't cheap......

There is an *** for every seat, and different folks for different strokes etc.
This thread made me lol. Good entertainment for a working morning
Coming from someone who has spent almost another evo in price in mods, for what the OP wants the shelby is easily the winner. For a weekend warrior, you only care about nice weather, its not your main car so practicality goes out the window.
I bought my evo to use it year round, its now my weekend warrior car. It's awesome, would stomp a gt500 in most performance categories but its not nearly as reliable. I bought a boring DD AWD kizashi for DD so I want an impractical displacement vehicle now. Z06 would be my choice though, but the shelby is awesome too.
So again, for what the OP wants, shelby power in a weekend toy car, just get the shelby, less headaches.
