I suspect it will be on the heavy side (3400-3500lbs) in standard trim. If they offer a stripped down track version I might pick one up.

in today's world, i can imagine that being the case. airbags, heated seats, SAT/NAV, etc.

luckily, i have my Evo as the track car, so i'd like the new Focus, fully loaded. even a moon roof, if avail. man, what a GREAT DD it would be. a stripped-down, light-weight version would be awesome as well.

i ain't gonna lie. i've always wanted to play Hoonigan. LOL

This is very big news for the evo community....and a important one. I'm glad to I can choose something other than a STi. I think I'm in the market, this really appeals to me more than the X.

^ yes! i think that is the best part of all this. as long as pricing is competitive, that is. just when the Subaru guys thought they had the baddest thing going into 2016.

time to sign up on a Ford forum.

Eh, ford is pretty stringent when it comes to warranty. If you tune it, they can see it even if you "put it back to stock" and will not replace a blown up motor. Mustang and ecoboost f150 guys have ran into this..

True, but Ford Racing and Mountune provide performance packages that allow you to keep your warranty. Looks like they offer intercooler, cold air intake, exhaust, and tune for the Focus ST. Expensive though.

The Ford Focus RS is here, and it’s 4WD

Hot hatch sports ‘over 316bhp’ and rather less torque steer. Watch out, Golf R. Watch out EVERYTHING

What else do you need to know about the thirtieth car to wear the Blue Oval's RS badge? Well, like the Focus ST, the RS will only be available in five-door flavour, and in just four colours: blue, grey, black and white. It'll be built at Ford's Saarlouis facility in Germany, but will be sold worldwide in markets including China, Australia and North America.

To upgrade the suspension, engineers have installed stiffer spring rates, bushes and anti-roll bars plus a set of adjustable dampers with road and track settings. The wheels measure 19 inches across
Stiff bushes? Sounds like a bad date.

And 19 inch wide wheels? YES!

Nitrous Blue, Stealth Gray, Absolute Black or Frozen White.
****ing bull****! I want a lime green RS! **** you Ford!

since when does "across" mean width? :P i found a few typos on Ford's website.. such as " a new steering wheel with a race-inspired, flat-bottom steering wheel".

a steering wheel with it's own steering wheel? sweet! LOL

In the reference of a car, I would always treat "across" as a width. If you were talking about a round table, then I would treat across as the diameter. Poor word choice.

The article could have just said "It has 19 inch wheels with 235/35 Michelin Pilot Sport tires" instead of an unnecessarily verbose wording they used.

And yes, I'm an engineer and I write for a living.
