I think we have all seen what happens when you give a redneck a bunch of money. Ricers are no different.

Volvos have always been pricey. They are more like Mercedes and such.

They are super nice cars, just fall a little short on the driving dynamics.

I've driven a new Polestar V70R. I was thinking of getting one. (they had like $12k rebates and such on them at the time)

It's a wonderful car, just a bit numb. It's a deal for what it has, especially when you start comparing it to a Audi of the same specs.

A 2017 s4 would be better. It seems like reliability of Audis, in general, is suspect though.

Not lately. VWAG has been top 3 or 4 in reliability the last couple of years.

Looking for other similar awd/part-time systems and found this, last sentence refers to GKN and Evoque:

http://blog.caranddriver.com/quattro...nt-awd-system/

As fuel efficiency concerns rears its head I guess this on-demand awd will be the norm. Perhaps this ultra system might be better implemented ... Or not.

Read this (exciting videos in there):

On demand AWD is fine as long as it has mode in which the is car fully AWD with active diffs (so its like an EVO X), and it doesn't overheat and shut off. It can be done, I just think the RDU on the Focus is likely undersized. The only way to tell though will be to get an actual temp sensor installed in it and see what temps it's running, and then put an appropriately sized fluid cooler on it. And then tuners would need to figure how to defeat the auto-shutoff for the RDU in the ECU. Because according to that Vorshlag article, just left braking disables the RDU.

I agree on-demand AWD has its place, ideally, perhaps not in this application. All this is for fuel efficiency though...the Audi Ultra system saves 0.3l of gas per 100km. I assume the Focus RS system has roughly similar efficiency/fuel savings. Some smarter bros than me figured that out per gallon in the comments...hilarious. Somebody said it's about the same power draw as AC running.

I don't really think we get a vote here because they sold all of them easily with large demand following.
