To me I really don't like the handling on the SRT. My friends 95 SE-R has better handling then my car. But Sport Compact has a Project SRT they put a little money into the suspension and its slalom speed went up to 70mph. So it can be improved on. Speed? If you can take less then 5000 and make 500whp on stock internals, then I would take the SRT over an integra anyday. But the EVO is still sweet, if I had the money I would have gotten one. Hopefully if my brother gets back from Afganistan(spelling) he will finally get his EVO.

Performance wise this car kills the rest of its class. Unfortunately, it's still a Neon. I only wish Dodge made this thing look different. If only Mitsubishi got the hint and made a bigger model in between my OZ and the EVO, discounting the 04 Ralliart of course.

when you say "still a Neon" are you referring to the Neon that has countless SCCA National Championships and SCCA Pro Rally wins against AWD cars like the EVO ???

The way I see it saying a SRT-4 is still a Neon is like saying an EVO is still a Lancer. Just my opinion.

of you could just spend $18 g's on a Mazdaspeed Protege that comes with all that stuff already......I've got on of those too and it's a fantastic little car.

I dunno how they'd get 320 whp on it though because people are blowing motors pushing as little as 15lbs of boost through that Mazda block......it doesn't take to engine mods well at all.....but it's a great stocker.

they've got a couple of them around here.....they've got a yellow one sitting out front just down the street.....I think they're blowing them out for about $17.5k from what I've read.

Doubt it. More likely they're trying to get rid of all the MSPs in favor of the 3. When I was lurkin' the MSP forums they mentioned how huge deductions were all over the place (apparently in Texas they were going for around $16.5K).

masterevo...what ru talking about? the srt will have MORE respect than ANY integra? i would take another type R over an srt4, the type R is the best FF handling car ever built from Japan.LSD DC2R chassis, 5 sways and struts on the car from the factory and ur still pushing 195hp@8400RPM with a body lighter than a civic (2600lbs) and you get the alcantara seats(in japan comes with red recaro SRD's, momo steering wheel etc etc same thing as evo) and theres only 1500 made every year, 1998, 2000, 2001, and very few were brought in 97'

ok if u wouldnt take an "old beat up integra" (which has absolutely no problems up to 200k+miles) would u take a JDM Integra type R(that comes with recaros, momo, enkei wheels etc etc?) or how about the new integra type R in japan("rsx" type R) that one is at 220hp, i wish i could post a pic of it ******* it...that one comes with brembos now and all the same features on the evo...and it runs 14 second 1/4 miles with a NA tuned 2 liter with a CR of 11.1:1, i dont get how you could respect the SRT over any of these cars

Mopar just announced the Stage 2 package for the SRT-4 at the LA SEMA-IAS Show, 280 horsepower. That's impressive! I still love my Evo, but you gotta respect those numbers.

Got blanket statement?

A low 14 is not a very impressive 1/4 mile time. As far as straightline performance is concerned, an SRT4 will dominate an ITR when modded, even if the two are fairly close when stock. It's cheaper and easier to build a $20,000 SRT4 into a quarter mile beast (even if it is still fwd) than it is to build a $28,000+ (we'll find out how much it costs when it is released, but it is most assuredly going to be much more expensive than the SRT4) DC5R. That is why the SRT4 is more respected among drag racers than the Integra is. The Integra has an edge in handling stock vs stock, but, again, it is a more expensive car. Both cars deserve all of the respect that they get, though, as both are very, very good at what they're meant to do.
