I think the PP2 is a great package if you plan on leaving the car stock. If you plan to follow anything beyond SCCA STP rules, then a base model certainly makes more sense. Either way, I really like the new car except the weight. I really wish we could get 400-500lbs out of the car with the same drivetrain.

But, yeah, I did see those Motortrend races and it jives with the reviews and mods people have been doing on the 2018+ coyotes.

I wonder what happens to press cars, especially fancy ones like this: newly off lease in dealer lot, driven by company executive, rental car fleet, scrapped?

I'll bet they just get sold. A while back there was a bunch of manual v6 Accord coupes being sold, ex fleet according to their Carfax. I can't imagine them coming from other than the factory. They did seem to have cone from ohio.. Or, there could have just been a whole bunch of corporate Honda company men that liked to row their own in v6 coupes.
