That makes sense. Mine doesn't sound as bad as yours but you just never know. This might get totalled especially if inaccurate KBB values are referenced.

Can't see the structure behind the doors, but from the pics that looks like it should be fixable through insurance. If you really want this to go your way though, you gotta take a lead / active roll in the process. You need to research and find a couple places that you feel good about and get estimates from them. My generic advice is to find out who the local Porsche dealer/enthusiasts use. The insurance company is only interested in resolving this as quickly and cheaply as possible. The places they recommend are about achieving that result, not necessarily the best result for you.

Thanks for advice. I just turned 34 and I was gifted my first accident for my birthday. It was a pretty low speed impact and the structure behind the doors appear to be unphased. The doors actually still open and close surprisingly. I have a body shop in mind that has done exotics so it seems like I'm on the right track

I once bought an Evo that was totaled from a rear-end collision. I had to change frame extensions, the floor, trunk, bumper, bumper cover AND also pull the radiator support, since it was pushed into another car during the impact. I had about $15k into the car, but it was SO worth it. I loved that car more than anything

Having a tainted car takes the pressure off of keeping it pristine and preserved. Track days and general hoonage will be even more guilt free lol

So it looks like the car is not going to be totalled, but parts availability might be an issue. The LH quarter panel is discontinued and out of stock in the entire US and I really really really don't want aftermarket panels. Does it look like the existing quarter can be repaired or does it need to be replaced 100%?

Purchasing Aero as soon as the black friday sales start.

Will install the upgraded turbo at some point this winter. AMS has their intake manifold/intercooler on sale so I might pick that up too. Roll bar should be here in a month or so. I feel like the car might be an absolute monster come spring.
Nice!

Way over exaggerated issue. Anything below 500wtq and not launching on the drag strip it is not an issue at all.

Mine blew the rear diff at 30k miles on a 300whp na build.... it also chipped a gear in the trans. Did I mention the engine blew too? That part was my fault though

For me at this point a new Gen 86/brz makes more sense than an old s2k.
Seen plenty of guys have all kinds of failures with them and seem generally really expensive to mod to get anywhere near 400 or more whp. I get it that a 86 would also cost a lot to mod to have good power but at least it’s a new car with lots of fresh support and enthusiasm

I bought an intake manifold on Black Friyay that costs more than an Evo shortblock, so there is that.

This would be something id miss about not having an evo. availability of parts and price of parts. You can literally dream up whatever you want and chances are if u google it and put "evo" or 'CT9a" or 4G63" after it somebody is selling what your thinking about
