I just realized I havent posted any updates of my aero install. Got the diffuser and spatz installed. Might do the side skirts tonight if my date flakes on me haha.

I still need to get the front rock guard things as my panels are getting pretty peppered since the tires stick out so far.

Bryan has the ZL1 guards. Think I might go that route too. I just dont know how much further out my tires stick than his. Might only help a little on my car. Thinking I will custom make some carbon ones and tie them into the side skirts for extra support but got to mount to skirts first to figure that out.

I'll be interested to see how long your diffuser lasts. Every single guy I have met that tracks their supra have destroyed the Verus diffuser. It's why I didn't buy it with my aero.

How did they get destroyed? From around town use dragging on everything? Just ripping off at speed?

OK I can see both of those happening haha. They give you the option to run the factory screws (that thread into plastic) or actual bolts with lock nuts. I did half and half since the exhaust would need to be dropped to cut out part of the heat shield for the other couple bolts to be used. So ya, if using all the factory bolts, I can see it ripping off. It is freaking low too. Mine already has a couple fins that met the ground and that was just going to the gas station and back.

A while back you said something about the splitters coming off on track too. Well, I think mine has already loosened up. Got to get it back up in the air and double check before that happens to me.

I didn't say splitters before. I probably said diffuser. Haven't heard of any issues with the splitter. I am dreading the install though. Maybe next week.

I'm also second guessing installing the AMS mani-cooler as you have to modify/cut a bunch of OEM bits. I might sell it and get the Wagner that is coming out in January.

That is a possibility. I will keep my eye on the DIFFUSER then haha. Still going to double check the splitter to be safe. Oh ya, you are going to love installing it!

Sucks to here on the mani. I am still waiting for more people to test various brands before I pull the trigger on one. But then again, I might not ever swap out the turbo so there really isnt a need for one...

The stock turbo will create higher IAT than an upgraded turbo. If I can have patience, I really want to get some data with the Pure 700 and stock mani, then install an upgraded mani. I will probably not be patient though.

I did have a moment of dread this week as I was installing the Verus wing. "Fuuu, am I going down the same rabbit hole I did with my Evos? DAMMIT!"

Really hoping the Supra stays reliable.

Ya but an upgraded turbo will flow more air and now we are talking about flow limitations on a stock mani. There is just no winning when modifying! It always snowballs...

My only issue with the Supra right now is how freaking low it is. Living on the side of the mountain means every intersection is a challenge for me. Cant even go to my favorite burger spot cause it wont make it out their driveway!

Watching the sentiment in this thread go from "It's nice to have a reliable, stock car" to "Install all the mods" has been fun.

From my limited vantage point, these have still been reasonably reliable cars even with mods, right? Are there any common failure points cropping up on the Supra forums?

I haven't and won't touch my engine. I have to say not worrying about a laundry list of parts and modifications needed to make more power is REALLY nice. No budgeting. No research. Yay warranty. Just driving.

They are pretty stout from what I have seen so far. I am hardly adding "all the mods", just a downpipe and a turbo. Probably the mani-cooler. Pretty sure that will give me more than enough power since stock was already so potent on track.

However, maybe now with aero and higher power I will finally see the fuel starvation issue people are seeing on track. Yay. Snowball indeed.

Yea, I am already thinking of all the hotels and airbnbs I went to this season for track days that I can no longer go to because I won't be able to access them with the splitter. Back to chain motels for me...

I already bottom out on the speed bumps in my mother in laws neighborhood and with the splitter, forget about it...
