I FINALLY got to flog the car with no nannies. Prior to this, I did four laps around Laguna Seca, the day after I bought it, with all nannies. I did a local autoX with no nannies. Local AX laps are about 30sec long and built for Miatas.. so meh.
This is the first time I've really been able to open the car up and force myself to find it's traction limits and control them.
It was a battle all day with a guy in a C5z. We were both on CR-S tires, new, only scrubbed in by the drive there. He's been driving his car for a number of years. He does SCCA autocross nationals, etc in it. Very well developed and often one of the fastest cars at my local AX second only to my Evo. I believe he ran a 57.6 and I ended up with a 57.1 or maybe a 57.2. I forget; still waiting for official results. I believe the average lap time (average street cars, average peeps) was about 65sec.
I either need less brake pad or more tire, as I was into ABS more often than I am used to in the Evo. Maybe Mitsu just has a less-intrusive system? also, my pads do dust a TON. See before and after pic. LOL
I'm super stoked seeing how the car is new, I'm new to it, etc. Not bad for what was essentially my first time REALLY putting it through some paces. The video doesn't show one of the funnest parts of the course, but meh. This is a gokart track that allows for about 20 different configurations, one of which allows for a 100mph straight. Pretty cool.
:TLDR: The Supra continues to prove itself to be better than it should LOL
I've just been playing around in Mexico with the car, and even with the OEM Michelins, it's very controllable and easy to throw around and catch the car in a slide and get it straight again.

We did it mostly for the deal. 2020, Base 3.0. So we didn't pay for any of the frills we don't care about since it's primarily going to be a track car. Tuning isn't a big deal on the new ones, just need a cloned ECU.

And if you REALLY care, premium brakes are relatively cheap. So many more brake pads to choose from. IMO the base model is perfect. I also don't need any of the premium frills.

Brakes are the same, just no red paint with Supra logo.
Hey, guys. Can we start our own forum? SupraMKV just plain sucks.
I think you've been viewing forums through nostalgia goggles. Forgetting that back in the hayday of forum activity there was all kinds of pissing matches. lol
