Good tracks have elevation changes. Get a ride around Road Atlanta if you ever get the chance, the first time going down into T12 in a fast car your stomach will drop. My favorite local track has everything fun, banked turns, high speed sweepers, off camber downhill corners, blind uphill corners, and if you have enough *****, a jump

The one thing I like about tracks vs autocross is being able to go drive the same lap a month later and get a quick understanding if the car has improved from changes or not as well has data that can be easily overlaid for more in depth comparisons.

I did one full season of AX. DNFed all the time. It's just not for me. All I see is a sea of orange 😂

Many of my videos looked like that too lol. I do think I managed to capture some of the "intensity" in this video. (camera1 is bumper height, camera2 is mainly for recording sound from the rear mic). I just noticed my door might be open

Man you guys have a huge lot and a fast layout. The "newer" lot I run is a decent size but your lot looks a lot bigger. Here is one of the faster layouts in the new lot in the Evo for comparison.

It's the Houston Police Academy/SWAT training site. No pebbles, just ammo shells and smoke bombs bits lol. My car was set up for this grip level, so its horrible in regular lots.
Try to record more (not wind) sound. Honestly I dont know if I can record something similar. I struggle with the newer gopros

This is the problem with boomers and their types. stuck in the past, way back in their forefather days. By definition downhill skiing/biking, rallying, rock climbing isnt racing. fine. do the point-by "racing". back in 2002 we got "I like anything fast enough to do something stupid in." - Xander Cage lol. thats what X-games is all about, which is what were into.
As I said to my friends, you can keep chasing the girl of your dreams(or college sweetheart) but I think youre missing out if you don't try the low lying butterfaces.

Fewer and fewer people care about wheel to wheel racing and just care about driving the track. Lucky Dog, Chump Car, or Lemons all have their place for sure but most the money and interest is going into fastest lap.

If wheel to wheel was the only form of racing cars, I would be out of this game right now. ZERO INTEREST and I have all the offers to drive the top Lucky Dog cars here cause I make the parts on several of them.

Time Attack and AutoX, Man and Machine vs a prescribed course... ME GUSTA!!!!

I'd be more than happy to do a W2W series in something cheap, like a Miata. Right now I don't have an interest because I like to build my car my way and go see what it can do. I don't have an interest in building around a rule set. Not my thang.

A lot of my customers have put together their cars for the "lower" classes in time attack. it's a great place to be, you don't lose your head trying to build a crazy car and the competition is fierce. I enjoy time attack rules because they're more of a "here's what you can't do" approach which means there are always opportunities to try new ideas in the never ending search for speed.

I am greatly interested in W2W too and hope to get into it when my life isn't so turbulent. Will certainly be in something "disposable" too I have a couple friends who do B spec racing and the relatively cheap cost of entry certainly make it an appealing place to start.

have you been to ORP? its basically all turns... longest straight a stock power BRZ only hits 96, C7 Z06 about 122. and its all up and down too, there isn't a single flat portion... well the main straight is flat-ish. and there's only one turn where you need to be careful about hitting a wall, and thats only if they're running the track clockwise. counter clockwise you gotta mess up pretty good to have to worry about a wall

They actually hold autox's there sometimes where then run sections of the track point to point along with cones to artificially narrow the track.

he doesn't need to go that far... 3 of the 4 local(ish) tracks to him have a lot of elevation change. One of them is all only elevation change. But he closest one to him is completely flat... and has lots of walls...

I would love to do W2W at an affordable cost where everyone would be in a comparable car. So far, the only way I know to do that is karting (or iRacing).
