Although I am not leaving the Evo X platform, I wanted to let you all know that I have started a company making aftermarket automotive parts.
The first products are for the BMW G8X platform, and the A90 Supra. I don't think mentioning this would violate anything on here since we currently don't offer any Mitsubishi aftermarket parts (although my huge "clown intake" might be in the future). The initial product line is "ACX Braces" which combine generative designed DMLS aluminum mount points with carbon fiber tubing. The results are ridiculous in terms of weight and rigidity. The BMW strut braces are even lighter than DINAN. The Supra unit is 1.74lbs vs. 5lbs for the OEM GR unit.

Nice, those look really good. What kind of cost are you paying for the DLMS parts (maybe an est pre volume?).

 

The price varies based on material and quantity you are having done in a single batch. It isn't cheap, but it is the ONLY way if you are trying to go for absolute optimization as the generative design always ends up with a truly organic model. So many companies (including the one we previously were discussing) simply buy bulk auto parts from China and slap it in their labelled box and resell it. The only way to distinguish oneself in the aftermarket automotive space is to operate at a cost level and performance level not attainable by bulk China production.

 

Haven't posted an update in awhile... track season is almost over here in the NE. Ended up doing a last minute Time Trial event at Lime Rock with EMRA. I haven't done timed competition in decades so was fun to have some competitive push again. Ended up with a new PB (Barely) and won 1st in class, fastest time of the day and the new EMRA Lime Rock track record.

2nd place was my track friend that used to have a Supra as well but now has a G series M2. Tuned by me, approx 650 whp

Ended up trading my 330i Xdrive for a M240i Xdrive because I wanted more power and why not another B58.

Getting in the 330i after driving the Supra made the 330i feel like a slug.

Tracked my M240i with some basic mods. Was surprisingly more capable than I thought it would be. Actually reminded me a lot of my Evo 10.

 

is it AWD? (asking cause of the reminded of EvoX comment)

 

Yup, it's Xdrive. Xdrive is rear biased though so I have to say I kinda like it better than 50/50
