The supra hit my goal of a 56 lap time at Lime Rock early this season. This is faster than GT4's and most GT3's with street tires. This car continues to surprise me and I am very glad I bought this over a GT4 now. I think it was my new seats that made the car faster. 55's next!
I have the CRS on my c7z and 71 on my Evo 9.
Seems the 71’s have more overall grip but on a much smaller window, within 2 laps at Sebring I had the fronts at 200* while the rears were chilling at 150*.
I literally had to start a session with a 4/5 psi stagger to get the front and rear within a couple pounds, I’d start with 24F and 29R to end at 32/33-34
CRS doesn’t have this problem even on a much heavier car.

Yea the 71's are like a 2-3 hero lap tire. Although I haven't found that to be an issue yet this season as most of my track days have been 65* or under. What I have found out is that the RE71RS still have decent grip after heat cycling out as opposed to the CRS which fall off a cliff and have horrible grip after they have heat cycled out, which is around 4.5 days for me.
I did Lime Rock again this last weekend and it was day five for the 71's and I was able to get within 1 sec of my PB.
What's the story on them? What's he turning for times?
He got a 3D printer over the winter and went to town. haha. He also flow tests all his stuff so it actually works or not.
He is currently about .9 secs faster than me with stock power. It's really interesting to see the differences as he has way more aero than me but stock power, I have baby aero and more power. Two different strategies. There are some corners that he can carry much more speed than me and that is where he makes up the time.
Here is a overlay of both our current PB's. In the downhill which is a 90mph+ corner, where aero really works, you can really see his aero advantage. Top speed you can see my power advantage. Check out the mph and plot differences between us there. I'm the white plots, he is the blue. Both on 295/35/18 RE71RS tires.
Here are some good photos to see the differences in our aero:
Had fun on the full 3.51 mile mega course at Pocono about three weeks ago. If you are wondering why it took me forever to pass that GT4 starting at 3:35 in the nascar oval, it's because it has a 4.5L swap with over 500hp. At the time I thought something was wrong with my car. hahah.
Almost hit a top speed of 160 that weekend (was two days). Def the fastest I have been on track before.
is passing always on the right at Lime Rock? seams weird, especially on a clockwise track
Preferred on the right since all right turns except for one. Sometimes I get a point to the left when they are more aware and see me coming which I prefer so I can actually track out instead of going in tight.
