Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
Personally, if I wanted a lap timer that learns and tells me how to do better, without having to download or sync anything or figure out how to plug things into a car, I would buy it again. You can do a session and literally review the session, with video and tips of how you can go faster before you even take your helmet off.
I'm a data geek and always want more, so the lack of OBD2/CAN integration made me look elsewhere.

I'm also a data geek, so the lack of OBD2/CAN integration on this seams like a glaring flaw to me. Thats why I'm having trouble justifying buying this when I can buy something like an AIM dash that also does optimal lap stuff and all the data and then some more data
Also have a catalyst. It is real handy for the live delta showing if your up or down on your accumulated best time. It can either use the day or all time best lap as a reference which is handy depending on weather etc. The instant delta lets you experiment lines etc and see if you have found an improvement instantly.
It is good how you can review the session and it gives you your 3 biggest opportunities for improvement. even tho the data is quite basic at least you know what corners you need to work on. The video quality you get off it is really good and it has overlays on it etc too.
yeah I get triggered when someone is all "my opinion is superior to your opinion" and your post was basically that. and yeah you were replying to that other guy but that was more ignorance than a superiority complex. anyway, I said my piece
The track times in your signature dont look fast. I think youre like one of these 2nd amendment gun nuts, just showing off the wares, attending the events but can't really shoot well so you just pose as a "professional"

No disrespect Razorlab who's been sharing his progress, but as we can see getting faster on the same track(getting familiar) is ALL power for the same straightaways, better brake$/tire$ for the same turns, and automatic transmission. I dont understand what the big deal is. No tricks, no traps, no surprises... its just buying stuff.

Power has stayed the same. 100% stock power. No tune. Zero power mods down to the oem intake filter.
Suspension has stayed exactly the same since March.
I made it a point/goal to change nothing and get used to the car/track this season.
I might be misunderstanding you but the car has been the same all season minus some tire changes from contis at the beginning and then after that I’ve only driven on CR-S at Lime Rock.

As an aside, there is a spec Miata driver doing 1:00.01 at Lime Rock. It’s very impressive.
I’m sincerely not understanding the point you are trying to make. Faster/more powerful car doesn’t mean an easy ticket to fast lap times. If it was, I wouldn’t be faster than most of the Porsche GT3/GT4 drivers I’ve seen so far at Lime Rock.

As of today, I'm only .5sec faster than the TT5 track record holder (s2000, also autocrosser) so yeah. If you give him a well sorted Supra then he can drop his time 5-8 seconds. Same guy. I'm sure I'll go faster with my new parts as well. Same guy.
Right. I'm talking about the individual driver/track-only guy. One can just buy stuff to get faster lap times. You started with a Supra on LRP so yeah youre waaay faster than the guys/streetcars who were there 20years ago. you clearly have better equipment, not because youre born with the skills (whatever track-only guys think they have). I understand youre planning to do some more mods. Youre going to go faster, easily I bet. I noted that experience and familiarity of the track is a factor also (a little bit)

(not sure if I wanted to add this) As opposed to in autocross, old/base model cars can technically beat your newer/faster car. I think this is what draws people in to autox... some way to tell you did NOT do well enough that day (its like going for a qualifying lap all the time). And thats probably a turn off for some
i do TA's and its NOT as exciting as an autox run. I can probably do TA's while having a cigarette (j/k)
Strategically spending less to accomplish* more is a skill.
If you can spend 1/2 the money as the other guy to accomplish* the same thing, that is something.
* I mean....this could literally be anything to anybody. Unless someone is cutting you a check to do what you do, its all subjective. Might as well be arguing pokemon go vs. magic the gathering and nit picking pay to win shiny cards.

LOL, just wanted to join in on the theme this thread has taken on...

Then you went on some rant that people (only track guys because they said bad things about autox) can buy more parts to go faster, which, I have to say, is super captain obvious in a car enthusiast forum.
Everything is relative and has to have context here. Yes, now that I know the track, I could probably hop in a GT3 and go faster than my Supra, or put a turbo upgrade on the Supra and go faster. However, I also know of supra owners that put more power in and went slower. So, it's all relative.
Again, not 100% sure the point you are trying to make, other than it just feeling like a backlash. You even kinda stooped to a lower level saying you can do track days while smoking a cigarette because you are the next Tommy Makkinen, but if you are doing an autox, you need to be Doctor Manhattan and focused, because it takes skill.

Pokemon go is an augmented reality video game while MTG is primarily a TCG game with some online virtual card play as well. A better comparison would have been the pokemon TCG and not one of the video games.

So... getting this thread back on topic of the all mighty Supra that is faster than every car before it because it's a newer car...
Here is a video from last weekend of me having some fun with a superior Porsche GT3 and a Cayman cup car:
