Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
Did you get your OBD adapter yet so you can start coding? Remember to select Z4 and not Supra (in Bimmercode) for the model otherwise you can change pretty much nothing.
Sport plus is only for the trans and engine settings. As far as I can tell, makes the throttle so touchy its useless and cant really say it does anything different for the trans compared to normal sport mode. So basically, its worthless.

I have a obdlink mx+ already. Haven’t used bimmer code yet but I do have it downloaded.
Have you seen the Bimmercode step by step thread on the other forum? If not, you should take a look cause it walks you through everything. Its very simple.
Good news is you get two ecus.
On another note. I did the first mods to my Supra. Spoiler, the side mirror wind buffeting thingies from AMS and some wheel spacers. Already looks much better. I also went on the first real spirited drive in the thing today since it was oddly 65* out. I gotta say, this car is impressive. It is deceivingly quick. Feels a little floaty, but so did my Evo 10 on stock suspension. The trans at full song reminds me of a GTR trans.
I really look forward to getting this thing on track, and putting real suspension and tires on it. Too bad I have to wait 3-4 months...

Glad you are enjoying the car so far! How do you like the insta-boost? Takes a bit to get used to after driving an Evo for so long. I would also say that the steering is more touchy than the Evos. Trans is awesome for sure. I have no regrets on getting an auto car now. Even if they come out with a manual trans Supra, I am not getting one.

I also have to say, after having pretty much crap sounding 4 cylinders for my whole life, I am loving the sound of the B58.
Steering initially feels more touchy than the Evo but it has that dead feeling right off center that EVERY german car has. I dunno why that is. All my VW's have it, the Supra has it, the M2 comp had it. I really don't understand. Don't tell me it's the new electric assist, because my Fiesta ST's did not have that same feeling.
Not horrible, I just think it's weird that is like a German car trait now.
The back end def feels a bit disconnected when pushing hard, even on the street where I'm not even close to what is experienced on track. I'm planning on installing SPL toe bars, hopefully that helps.
You got a couple more years to wait before that dream can come true.... well legally.
I sent a message out to my Supra guy to see what he has incoming. Last time he checked (6 weeks ago), he could get my color, red and black. White and silver seem to have crazy markups.

My broker says getting a car at msrp right now is nearly impossible. He does make the process super easy though. I was at the dealer for 5 minutes signing papers and that was it. If you want his #, send me a message.
Get stiffer or solid rear subframe bushings. For some reason BMW has always used rubber subframe bushings and the whole rear subframe moves around. It's pretty well established on older platforms that solid rear subframe bushings reduce rear end sway and give the car a more planted feel without increasing NVH.
Went on an even longer drive on Sunday with the Supra. Drove it harder than I have since I bought the car. Even in 48* weather, this thing has a surprising amount of grip. I cannot wait to get real tires and suspension on it. I have no doubt this car is going to be faster than my Evo on track.
For the first time since moving to the East Coast, I am pissed that winter is starting because I just want to keep driving the Supra and do some track days! Even the stock power feels great on the street although I know I will want more once I get on track.
This is going to be the longest four months ever.. hahah
@Lumpy Sticks How is the MAP downpipe as far as fitment and sound?
Also, you are right, I haven't even looked at the Evo since I got the Supra. In fact, I am moving the Supra over to the Evo side of the garage because there is more room to work on cars there. Hahhaha.
One thing that I found out that sucks is that I already have a bunch of small chips on the fenders from the tires and I haven't even driven the car 1,000 miles yet. I ordered some of those ZL1 rock guards. Hopefully I don't hate the way they look.
