Welp, I am getting just about over these dealers now... I called to put a deposit down and they changed their tune and wanted $6k over and wouldn't budge. So, still on the hunt.

For giggles I asked for quotes on a couple CF editions.

One dealer wants $20k over the $65k MSRP. Other dealer said they are taking offers over $75k. Third dealer told they don't quote numbers over the phone and I told him I was out of state so then he said "we are asking $85k"

Some other dealers, even with the normal Supra editions, won't even give me prices over the phone or email.

These dealers are something else nowadays...

Businesses these days, in general, make the customer feel unimportant. Like we should feel lucky for the opportunity to be giving them our money. LOL
Now it's bleeding over into car sales, which is crazy to me.
As if dealerships didn't have a bad enough reputation...
They can go F themselves. I'm good with shopping elsewhere
Are people actually paying these prices? Where are they getting alli this money?

I did. I have two dealers I am chatting with within 2 hours that have supras coming in. It would cost $2-2.5K to ship from WA state. So I am seeing where these guys end up with the markup. If it's 2-3k, might as well purchase locally.

Although one of the two was very attentive then has ghosted me so far when I asked purchase price. Blows my mind.

Nice! Hopefully one of those two don't get crazy with markups. If not, shipping may be your best bet. Have shipping prices gone up that much? Used to be like $1500 cross country and enclosed.

Increased wages and gas prices, i'd assume.

It cost me $2k to ship my Evo from California to New Jersey two years ago. It’s gone up since then even.

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised at this at all, there aren't any cars to sell on Dealer lots.

It doesn't matter that it's a Supra, when you have no cars to sell, you mark up what you have so you can still make a profit to keep the overhead accounted for.

If you can't sell 100 cars at $2000 profit, you sell 10 at $20k profit. People are paying it and will continue until these supply issues get figured out.

I sent a text to my guy who got me $7k off. He said he is going to see whats coming in and get back to me. Downside is that you would have to sign in person, out here. Will let you know what he says.

My local Chevy/Cadillac/GMC/Toyota dealer is going under. They marked up their cars and nobody bought in.
They are now selling to the group that owns the Ford/Nissan/Subaru dealership who were smart enough to stock up on auction cars in order to stay afloat.
In my town, nobody is paying mark ups. That's why I'm so surprised others are.
I guess if you only sell one or two cars, that's fine if they are the only ones you have anyway. LOL

And he already replied. No white or silver, even by the end of the year. My color, red and black are coming in.

Thanks. I found a dealer selling a CF at MSRP. So might go with that unless they pull out some BS in the process.
