It's the normal silver (Tungsten) and I saw it. I'm going to call them this week.

 

Ahh, you are right. Phantom is what I was thinking of. Honestly, not a fan of the normal silver or white in person. They hide all the curves.

They look good in pictures but in person they look completely different. Well, to me at least. If you like it, thats all that matters.

 

Interesting, so the opposite of the other colors. Most of the supras don't photograph well.

 

curvy, "dynamic" cars never do. Two dimensions don't do cars like that justice.

My friend was part of the "poor paint on rear quarter panels" thing... I'm assuming that's been fixed?

 

Just got back from looking at a silver 2021 3.0

Good lord, the panel gap is all over the place on this car. Every gap is different and the back of the hood doesn't even follow the curve of the door panel very well. No way am I spending $56k on this. These feel like they should be mid $40k.

Also STILL haven't found a place that will let me test drive the car.

Bleh. I'm going to start looking at TT-RS's again.

I don't think it was just this car because I notice this on photos online too, example:

 

Panel gaps on mine dont seem bad.... just the hood to fender and hood to side bumper gap are quite large but thats on every Supra. All the others seem consistent and normal sized. Either way, I didnt buy the car cause its a show car. I got it to be my new race car / weekend driver and it has worked out great for that.

Good luck on the Audi search! I saw a flat grey one yesterday and loved it.

 

The gaps probably stand out more because there a million intersecting panels and a bunch of weird tacked-on stuff like the door flare with the fake vent.

Honestly, I was hoping going over one in person I would be wowed compared to photos but it was the opposite. I don't think this car is my thing. It's also super claustrophobic inside. I am going to check out some other colors just to make sure but I am less interested after today. Kinda bummed because it seems like a lot of performance for the money.

I might start looking at used M2 Comps too. There seem to be a ton on the market.

 

Panel gaps aren't an issue if you buy the car in correct color (black)

But M2 Competition is a great choice. I'd take that over a TT-RS if handling and track performance were a priority.

Black car, heck no. I had one and that was the first and last. Only got it cause it was $500 and a steal. M2C > TTRS.

and it looks like I am taking the supra racing tomorrow! Can't wait to see how much better it is with the new wheel/tire combo.

 

Currently sitting in 2nd. Behind by .02 seconds. Man these new wheels and tires made all the difference.
