LOL I guess we're all a bit predictable after all these years.
Yep, that is the truth.

Supra > house stuff. Come on! Get your priorities straight!
After driving my evo again tonight after 8 months, it's like driving it for the first time again. Razor, you know how that feels. Just going to put this out there, my evo is stock. I can't even compare it to the Supra. The amount of lag it has is just annoying. Amount of power without boost is depressing. Driving it now reminds me of a s2k. Just sucks below a certain rpm. I have been spoiled with no lag and can't go back..... sorry fellow evo members. I'm selling it and won't regret it, too much. Too happy with the supra to look back.

I believe it. OEM 2.0Ls have never been torque monsters.
it's like how some of us still prefer 2-stroke dirt bikes to 4 stroke. You have to enjoy how it all works, otherwise you're really gonna have a bad time.
That's how I felt the first time I drove a ZL1 1LE. Got back in my Evo and was like omg I thought it was responsive. lol. That said, a little lag on the ZL1 would probably be good so you don't instantly roast the tires every time.
We just did RSR super down springs, 4" DP, tune, and 15mm front/18mm rear spacers on an A90 here at the shop. Played with the alignment a bit, and got it to hook well and go straight. I'm definitely very impressed with the car; I enjoyed road testing it.
We are in line (deposit paid) for a 400Z though.

Yes exactly! I feel like the Evo is a 2 stroke and the Supra is a 4 stroke. I have always been a 4 stroke fan. But even at that, my 2.0L Cobalt feels more like a 4 stroke. Good power with no boost and almost instant boost when you need it. I am sure being 10:1 and DI helps.

The instant TQ those things produce is awesome and sometime too much. I watch them at auto-x and think to myself, do they ever go full throttle?

Nice! Was it a 20 or 21 model? What kind of #s did it put down? I still need to install my springs one of these days. Been trying to get a DP but ya, CA problems. Going to have to get some help from one of my NV or AZ buddies...
What made you decided on the Z over the Supra? Assuming you are going to be using it as a shop car for R&D, which would make perfect sense.

Its a 2020, we haven't had it on the dyno yet. Just had the ECU reflashed by Vivid Racing. These cars have closed loop control of everything, so tuning them isn't like an evo where everything needs to be dialed in to the Nth degree.
We decided on the Z because it'll be new. The supra has already been out a couple of years.

Like pretty much every modern car that has a modern ECU.

I know the car can make all sorts of adjustments on its own but I still feel better when the car is actually tuned on a dyno. I have seen some of these OTS tunes blow engines up so I dont trust them. Same goes for the piggy back units. They claim to only add 4 psi on the OTS tune yet when people log them, they are up 6-8 psi. Hopefully when you took it for a spin you were doing some logging at the same time!
Also, you may want to tell your customer to not take the car in to the dealer for the latest recall. If they do, the tune is gone and you have to have the ecu unlocked again. There is also a chance they brick the ecu during the recall work and that would lead to no more tunable ecu...

He's aware of not letting the dealer touch the ECU.
Client got the ecu flashed. He went with Vivid for a reason, they're not some random schmuck selling extra spicy toon's on Facebook. I'm sure it's fine.
So after a couple of weeks of inquiring about Supras around here, I think I am going to have to wait until the winter hits here.
Currently, the stock is low and all the dealers are giving me quotes of 10-15k over MSRP which there is no way in hell I am doing. One dealer quoted me $62k on a USED 2020. Lmao. It's surreal to think these cars were sitting on lots almost impossible to sell even with $5k+ under MSRP just 8 months ago.
Hopefully, the same thing happens when the snow starts falling and nobody is looking to buy a RWD sports car so I can actually purchase one under MSRP, or hell, even at MSRP...
