The divider is a pair of subs in a box. Thats about it. Its about 6" tall in the middle and 8" on the sides. I have never had anything come sliding through. When I carry stuff around, I keep it in my little storage tote which has feet that dig into the carpet so it doesnt slide around. Here is a good picture I found to show you.
They are indeed factory. And just as you were hoping, they sound as good as they look.....
I had seen a photos of that before and I totally thought it was something aftermarket that the person added. Def not a fan of how non-oem that looks but I also grew up in the 90's so I might be biased.
Funny you guys bring up the cup holders, cause I actually like the location. On my Cobalts, they are right in front of the shifter (and they don't have an arm rest). Put a drink in them and you can't shift to 1, 3, 5 or adjust the ac. At least on the Supra they are out of the way. The center console sits up really high so I don't actually use it as an arm rest.
Went to a Toyota dealership today to test drive a used Supra and they wouldn't let me test drive it. I couldn't believe it. I can somewhat understand not test driving a new car (which I still think is absurd), but a used car?
Guy was giving me all sorts of attitude when I asked him why not. I just walked away.

I have a car that has the cupholders on the armrest, behind where I rest my arm. at first, I thought it was a little awkward. Turns out I don't mind them being out-of-the-way seeing how I'm not constantly reaching for it like I am everything else. But, in my case there's literally nowhere else to go, so....

I would have been more surprised if they let you show up and drive it.
I have a friend whose family was in the dealership business. They didn't allow test drives on popular, fast cars because they had a steady stream of tire-kickers asking for test drives every day. When a car is new, hot, and rare, they don't have any problem selling them without test drives. Easier to skip the liability and avoiding racking up miles.

It has been sitting on the lot for 45 days. Not new, it's used. Hardly a hot seller. The dealer just sucked.
My father was in the business for his whole life. I know some things too :P.
I called another dealer 20 more miles away from the one today and confirmed they have a new(!) Supra that I can test drive. I have new weekend plans.

Yep, it's not that bad right? I mean how often do you have to reach for your drink? I use it more for safe drink transportation.

Thats pretty stupid they didn't let you drive a used one. I didnt get to drive mine before buying it which I didn't mind since I got the car with something like 4 miles on it.
Be sure to mess with sport mode and maybe push the traction control button once to turn off most of the throttle restrictions. Both buttons are right in front of those cup holders. Excited to hear what you think about it! Keep us posted.
