Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
Surely those wheels, tires, and coilovers for the Supra weren't free, right?
Obviously, it's not hard to drop $40K or more on Evo mods if you want, but it's not necessary. The Evo platform doesn't need a whole lot of work to be fun. The sky's the limit on mods, but you definitely don't need to spend that much to have fun.
This might be blasphemy on an Evo forum, but I think that a lightly modded Evo is more fun than an all-out build unless you either 1) really, really enjoy working on the car and have free time to do so or 2) have huge amounts of money to pay someone else to do the work and maintenance. Too many of the EvoM build threads go off the rails when people are chasing endless loose ends and repeated rebuilds when they really just wanted to drive a slightly faster car.

Your last paragraph sums up why I have the Supra. I was just about to go big turbo stroker on the evo (still have all the parts to do it) but then I started thinking about everything else and came to the conclusion I either leave it how it is and just enjoy it or make lots of power and always be working on it. So instead, buy a car that comes with good power, already handles decent and you don't have to dump a ton of money into it. I'm going to have $3500 into the Supra and I'm sure its going to blow my evo away
I love the Evo and love driving it but I'm at the end of development without spending THOUSANDS.
Or, I drive a Supra, change the oil, and get those PBS.
I no longer enjoy maintaining a "race car". If I could get $30K for my Evo, I'd but a Supra tomorrow.
until then, I'll enjoy the Evo.....until....
I'm thinking the same. Would probably take a considerable amount of time to sell. I can enjoy it in the mean time.
It was parked for a solid two weeks.
