Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
And somehow it's still 3300lbs haha. Kinda blows my mind when it's smaller with two less driven wheels than the Yaris GR, yet 500lbs heavier.
The Supra has a big 3.0L inline 6 water to air intercooled compared to a 3cyl 1.6L air to air intercooled, an 8 speed auto transmission (with cooler) compared to a 6 speed manual. 19x10/19x9 wheels compared to 18x8 wheels. 275/255/19 tires compared to 225/18 tires. Yaris GR has some carbon panels. Supra has leather/heated/electric adjusted seats compare to Yaris manual. Yaris has way more plastic than leather/soft touch interior. The Supra has a huge heat exchanger in front, trans cooler, radiator, and two additional radiators on each side.
These items alone add up to the difference. If you really want a more fair comparison, compare the Toyota GR 86 to the Yaris GR. Both are stripped down cheaper cars, not a luxury GT car. Hell, I have already found about 15lbs of "harmonic dampeners" bolted on to random places on my Supra.

I test drove a 2021 Supra today. WAY better than I expected. It’s at the top of my list now. The automatic was fine given how much torque and response there was everywhere.
I was in with the new breed of auto trans for a while now. I've owned SST and DSG equipped cars. Currently have a DSG equipped VW. The ZF trans in the Supra is superior to both those. It's nice and smooth around town but aggressive in sport mode when driving hard. Has brutal WOT upshifts (in a good way). Anyone that thinks this is anywhere close to old "auto slush box" transmissions are talking out of their *** and hasn't experienced one yet. It's a very impressive transmission. Better than any DCT I have driven yet.
You are done. Next post will be a picture of your new supra haha. This is the thing I tell everyone who doesn't like the supra, just wait until you drive it and I bet you will change your mind.
Gotta say I absolutely hate the field of view in the Supra, all A-pillar and hood...granted I'm short. The rest was lost on me due to view. Sticking to the Evo for the rest of time...or they stop selling gas.
None. LOTS advertised at MSRP..... until I made the 2.5hr drive. Since dealerships won't be honest with the price even after telling them how far I'm driving AND I'm putting useless mileage on my tradr in, I gave up.
now I'm shopping GTRs since realizing a new '20 or '21 is the same price as a used one lol

Not sure I would want a new Supra with the tuning headaches. Bad enough that you need to “bench unlock” the older cars for a significant fee after getting a simple recall done at the dealer. I’m thinking a pre-6/20 2021 might be the sweet spot for a Supra?
Prices are elevated on all cars now, but I also got like $5-10k more for my RS3 than I would have in a normal market. So…

Unfortunately used Supras aren’t much cheaper than new currently unless they have miles and aren’t great condition.
With full transparency, I payed 58k for my 2020 last month. Plus $1,000 to ship it from Ohio to New York, plus taxes when I registered it. However, it was in as-new condition with the protective shipping plastics still on the door sills, media screen and carpet, with only 1,500 miles and it’s a launch edition. The tires and rotors didn’t even look like they had seen even modestly sporty driving yet.
