Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
Parts are getting super hard to find unless you're okay with swapping everything out aftermarket.
I say get out of the car before the time comes when it's harder to offload. Unless yours is in collector's condition, that is, in which case you probably be able to sell at any time.

The guy that bought mine blew up the engine the other day. He's having an impossible time finding another OEM long block or short block. He'll probably have to have one built.

I’ve had two separate vendors in recent years tell me they had the “last block in the US” at completely different times. Then I realized they had to be ordered because they’re not stocked. Like LGTD said, they don’t appear to be discontinued. They just aren’t sitting on the shelves here in the US.

When we get the OE short blocks at the shop, I tear them down, clean them, check clearances, and reassemble and then build the long block. They're always dirty, and about half the time the deck needs resurfaced because it got scratched in transit due to Mitsu's ****ty packaging.
But then...

hopefully dude gets it back on the road ASAP!
Fingers crossed.
Also... The first short block I ordered: the shipping company didn't want to move the block around on a pallet so took it off. They set it on the floor of the transport truck, in the cardboard "box". When the guy rolled up and opened the door the block was on its side. It had been rolling around the back of the truck all day.
anyway, current status of my ex:
At first I thought detonation, but that's a lot of metal on metal looking damage. I was also thinking possible valve dropping.
I asked what happened, he said he was just cruising down the freeway.
