Mk V Supra - My Evo's Replacement?
What's needed on the car to run the ethanol? Sounds like a hassle to make sure the mixture is right, though. 😔
I technically run a 23-24% mix in my car (2 gal e85, 8 gal 91). You can tell the difference, especially on hot days. Just make sure to run the tank low enough to get 10 gallons in there everytime and the mixture should stay consistent.
We'll see. Good info, guys. Thanks.
You are thinking way too much into this. Think of it as our cars are flex fuel but only until 25% (people do 30% all the time). Try it one tank and see if you notice a difference and see if the difference is worth it. Not going to hurt anything.
I know. I just mean that I won't know the % unless I run it down and start over. Then it's off if I'm running around and top off then have to start over, etc.
I'll do it just to try it out, of course. Maybe anytime I run to the gas down far enough to try again.

Thats exactly my point. Stop thinking about the %! The car will auto adjust. You can be off % tank to tank and it will be fine. Our gas sucks is the point, bad enough it pulls timing on the stock map. Any extra ethanol will only help.
91 is amazing. I dunno what you are talking about.
Seems reasonable to run morning sessions with whatever is in the tank and then target 25% on subsequent fillups between sessions. Ethanol content will asymptotically approach 25% with each fillup between sessions, which conveniently follows temperature rise throughout the day.
I forgot that they add some good stuff in to the gas up your way haha
I dont know.... I mean, I wouldnt run straight 91 at all on the track. I should pull up some of my logs so you can see how bad it pulls timing. Literally goes into the negatives. Since these cars target a load #, not a boost #, when they see detonation, they dump the timing and raise the boost to try to hit the target load. Its all bad when you dont have enough octane.

Even though I was a big E85 advocate, I have to say, I LOVE not having to haul that **** to the track all the time now.
Part of it is because I literally couldn't even fit it in the car anyway. lol
Not changing wheels at the track every morning is also awesome, and again, I couldn't fit another set of wheels in the car anyway.
Sometimes constraints are great.

Eventually, I will trailer the car, but it's really, really nice to not be doing it right now.
All this after I find a trailer that's easy to load, with the winch, and spots for fuel containers LOL
Too little too late?
