So the last two oil changes in the Supra I noticed some shimmery oil, but nothing in the oil filter when I cut it open. I was thinking maybe it was from breaking in but this last change was at 6,000 miles, and the car has 16 track days on it now. So I decided to do an oil test.

Good news is all the metals other than lead are low in the report. So now I am wondering why lead is so high. I did run 100 oct unleaded the last couple events, not sure if that would cause higher lead or not, even being unleaded. Anyone else see something like this before?

Does using a divorced "coilover" in the rear allow more room for wheel and tire?

In theory yea, but really only until you are trying to fit 315's could it become a potential issue.

Has anyone actually checked tire temps to see if a 315 would be needed? That seems overkill.

I can easily over heat my tires at auto-x. This weekend is going to be brutal since its supposed to be 110° out. Cant even imagine what ground temp is going to be.

There are a good amount of track guys that have not seen much difference time wise when going larger than 295. Diminishing returns.

That said, a 315 rear at least would be helpful with the higher power Supras.

That's what I figured/was hoping for. I'll never have over 400whp, so I'm definitely good on saving a bunch of money and massaging of parts.

Fourth visit to Palmer CCW yesterday. Another PB. Dropped almost 2 seconds from last time. 1:4X's next time?

Started feeling really achy on the drive back and I tested positive for covid last night. So I got a personal best with covid. lol

I may or may not have just invested in a big chunk of the Verus aero catalog.....

@razorlab Hope you are feeling better!

@kaj Throw an e20 mixture in there and I bet you see over 400whp with that downpipe.

isn't a downpipe only worth like 10whp? back when I was in denial about a stock Supra doing 147 on the straight of a local track (still am) I did a google deep dive (well not really that deep at all) on downpipes... AMS tested their on a stockish supra and one that was like 600whp, both gained 10 whp going form stock to AMS DP. it was catten tho.. are thing different with a catless?

Yep, no crazy gains. But he should be around 380 whp stock. So +10 with a DP (catted) and +10 for the E mixture. That gets him to 400whp! I dont think the catless DPs do much more. Maybe 5 hp over the catted ones.

OEM primary cat + GESI hi flow cat + Pure 800 + E50 = 600whp.

I would take this with a grain of salt. For one, it looks like they were doing their pulls in like 2nd gear since each pull lasted maybe 2 seconds...

He is also going to get a nice surprise when he goes back to the track and the car drops like 100+whp in under two sessions since he still has the OEM intake manifold. Feels very much glory pulls for the likes. That is unless the tuner just zeroed out all the heat management tables. Which would be like... reckless.
