Corolla GR-FOUR
I think so too since it has 2 LSD Torsen diffs and an active center diff. I like the fact you can select a 50:50 torque split or a 30:70. Auto will come but debuts with a 6-sp manual.
Looks like it would be a fun little AWD track car. We shall see when the press gets their hands on it and rings it out. Who would have thought Toyota developes an AWD enthusiast car when everyone else appears to be shelving those developements and focusing on EV product.

To say I'm excited about this would be an understatement. I was skeptical, but this really feels like it could be a proper replacement for my DD Evo 8. She will be turning 20, and it would be nice to get her off the streets.
One thing I don't like is the rotor thickness. 28mm when the old Evo 9 was 32mm. Both are about the same weight too.
From Car and Driver. I don't know if they have a good track record of getting preliminary info right but here it is:
From the Toyota website:
fixed-caliper disc brakes with 14 x 1.1-inch ventilated and slotted rotors outfitted with 4-piston aluminum calipers on both grades
Toyota hasn't released pricing for the GR Corolla yet, but we expect the base Core trim to start out a little over $30,000 with the loaded Circuit Edition coming in closer to $40,000. We'd stick with the Core and splurge on the Performance package, which adds front and rear limited-slip differentials.
Preliminary Specifications
All specifications are estimated and values and not final.

We will see when more about the circuit edition is released next year and tested. Those may be upgraded in production. Who knows. There is a lot of wait and see still here but preliminaries look great as the US has been so deprived in this market for a few years now.
Cudos for you keeping yours this long. I off'd mine 12 tears ago with regrets and had inadequate substitutes since '19 Fist and a '20 Elantra N-line DCT (Closest to an I30N the US gets). Like you said this is as close to an Evo sub we have seen come out that we get an opportunity for. Not ccounting Ford flop with the Focus RS.

Thanks. Wouldn't have been possible without this place, and all you good people to help. If Mitsubishi and parts availability were in a better place, I probably wouldn't even be considering retiring it.
I dont have one locked in yet but I have a couple customers that work at Toyota of San Bernardino that are willing to do some favors for me. I was honestly going to get the GR86 until I heard the Corolla release was coming soon. Now I am glad I waited. Honestly, if they are going to come out with a DCT model, I will wait. It will be my daily and I am over driving a stick everyday. I have been driving a stick every day for the past 20 years...
I'm happy with manual on my Evo as my weekender but during the week i want to brainlessly slam into drive and go lmao
