Don't let anyone tell you that you got a poor man's anything. Almost everyone agrees that for the money, the srt4 is a great car. What's important is that you like the car. I know people who hate their 911 Carrera's so go figure. Congrats on your new car...

 

nice car now just dont end up like 50% of the people on srt forums and you will be ok lol. from a roll there dead even with the evo maybe even a little quicker. i love my evo but those srt-4s are under rated and pretty damn fast.

 

yeah i'm one of the few srt owners that realize once an awd gets a good launch, theres not much hope for catching up. thanks for the kind words!

 

Hey man, your car looks great! I have an SRT-4 myself and I love it. At the same time, I love the EVO as well. However, getting married I needed two cars, so I bought a Stratus for my fiance, and the SRT-4 for me. (although she really does love the evo). It is a great car, I havent had any problems to date and the power is awesome. Like someone else said, as long as you dont end up like everyone else on srtforums.com, you will be ok. Enjoy it while you have it and maybe someday an EVO will be in your driveway!

The poor man's EVO is a Focus SVT, Mazdaspeed Protege, or Sentra Spec V, not an SRT. The Neon does offer hella acceleration for the price but the EVO is more about cornering. The SRT is a poor man's Cobra.

You got what you could afford just like anyone here. If I could afford a 360 Modena I would have gotten that instead, but I can't, so I got the Evo and I'm happy with it. Keep your priorities strait, stay out of debt, and enjoy what you got. And don't let anyone give you any tihs. And if someone does, offer to let them pay for your car!! That will shut them up fast.

I think you're greatly underestimating the SRT-4's overall capabilities.

 

... and trying to justify his purchase.

I think it's amazing that the SRT-4 even exists. I wish more companies would take chances and come out with exciting products instead of bland people-movers, but it's usually about selling large volumes instead of targeting niche markets.

 

no doubt..... thats one of the "most bang for the buck" cars... i've seen many a car become prey to the SRT because of lack of knowledge. i have much repect for that car. congrads on your purchase man... and damn what anyone says about your car..if they don't like it tell them to buy you another one.

 

very nice alternative man...I owned an SRT-4 right before the EVO, but i had to let her go...the SRT-4 is one heck of car. I loved mine, and still miss it sometimes even though an Evo is sitting at my house.

SCC did a suspension tune & build for the SRT recently. If you dont have that issue, you sould get one. They said its a whole new car with the new poly bushings. Took it from a drag car to an autocross beast..
