Yeah I agree, after I took the SRT-4 for a spin I was really impressed. I would love to have one, and for that price its awesome.

I think it's amazing that the SRT-4 even exists. I wish more companies would take chances and come out with exciting products instead of bland people-movers, but it's usually about selling large volumes instead of targeting niche markets.
Agree on both accounts.

Cobra - quickest car in price range, responds well to mods, better track cars in price range
SRT4 - quickest car in price range, responds well to mods, better track cars in price range
EVO - handles like a ferret, not the quickest car in price range, doesn't like mods as much as Cobra
MSP - handles like a ferret, not the quickest car in price range, doesn't like mods as much as SRT4

Cobra - owns the drag
SRT4 - owns the drag
EVO - owns the other motorsports
MSP - owns other motorsports

I've never seen a ferret on a road course... how do they handle?

And 600 HP out of a 2L motor isn't mod friendly?

Hey, SVT, name a quicker stock car for 27,000 than the Evo? You're wrong. Evo RS, 4.4 sec to 60. Nothing on the market can touch that for 27K. And the money you save over a Cobra, put that on the RS, look out.

And mod for mod, the Evo has the advantage over the cobra. Percentage wise, not total HP gain. You can get upwards of 390 WHP on the stock turbo, an increase of at least 150 WHP. We're talking 2.0 liter engine.

Good alternative choice, though.
But for 7 Years? OUCH imagine the negative equity if you have to sell the car, decide to buy something else, ect.....

haha drag is a joke! i'd rather watch the olympic 100 meter dash! sure it sheer power, but it doesnt show anything for the drivers.... compared to the athletes of the 100 meter thats dedication...

'other motorsports' is where performance driving takes its apple pie and eats it too! the very reasons why the lanevo, msp mx-5, msp protoge, impreza wrx\sti, etc...etc are great track cars and are able to nimbly manueaver in very technical and less technical courses

Dont discount the talent in drag. There is a great deal of skill involved for high performance drag cars. However its not my thing, and I agree with you on what to watch.

to a degree there is skill in drag and i agree with you that my point comes off strong, i suppose it just errks me when some kid/guy/gal just tells me shifting is the no.1 thing to learn and skill in a drag when in reality in pro drag from what im aware off they use modified automatics. the only skill i can see is awareness, which is a trait shared with all motorsports as well as it should be in life in general.

dont get me wrong, shifting is a vital technique when used in road racing in terms of starting and corner attacking. i just dont see the excitement of drag in the states, wooppeee the car just goes in a straigline faster then the other guy (of course in terms of street drag racing its usually the guy who dumped the most cash in his car)

at least drifting is becoming the in thing for todays youth and pop culture, driving skill is becoming of a norm in ethics at least by word of mouth, this is where darwins theory will come into play =-\

As good as the srt-4 is, I could never own one.

No matter how fast is or can be made... you can't outrun ugly.

Of course, the same can be said about the Evo, STI, and numerous other cars...
