Whenever I point out an Evo that drives by, my gf says, "it looks so cheap!"
I tell her it's not about the looks, it's about the capabilities.

 

I personally love the looks of my Evo, though I think my Eclipse is much better looking. Everyone has their own opinion on the looks of a car, to each his own. I respect any car that can run fast on a track: Honda, nissan, mazda, domestic, etc.... Its all in the attitude of the driver and how he carries himself in the motorsport world.

 

How is this a poor man's evo. I would think WRX is more of the poor man's EVO...

Then again, WRX would be more of the lower middle class and EVo being upper middle middle class.

That car has the cheapest interior ever. I drove it and cheap seats, cheap plastic, cheap knobs, cheap buttons, cheap instruments, cheap doors, and it looks all wrong (high and narrow in the *** and short and narrow up front.

 

The Evo's appeal is its function, not its form. If you want a stylish car, the Evo is not it. But most of us here don't really mind.

 

Hmm, Didnt I just say I loved the way my Evo looks? Obviously I appreciate its function as well or I wouldnt have spent that kind of money on it.

 

WRX is AWD and EVO is AWD too But Popular WRX and EVO are enemy.. they try make Best car and More HPS and Fast car.. So far i seen Fasted EVO MR 4.3 Sec in 60 and WRX STI going 4.6 In 60.. im not sure if im right

 

I don't think the evo or the STi are ugly, as a matter of fact I really like the way the STi looks.

Would you buy an Evo for $19,000 if it was FWD and had 170 HP? In other words, based solely on appearance, would you buy an Evo? Same with the STi - if it didn't have 300 HP under the hood and whatnot, would it still appeal to you?

I'm not implying that you shouldn't like the way they look; just pointing out that the cars' capabilities affect our perception of them.

 

I've seen some downright nasty body kits on Neons (and SRT-4s) lately. The Kaminari kit isn't too bad, mainly because it's mild and tasteful.

I saw a couple kids in a Neon yesterday with a front bumper that resembled a plow... I wanted to ask them if they were expecting snow...

 

That's very true and to tell you the truth if the car wasn't a NEON, I'd probably be all over it (even if it was in a another econobox, like a Hyundia Tiberon). The evo probably wouldn't be as good looking if it had the power of a Civic SI and was FWD in my eyes. Maybe my problem isn't the cars looks but the FWD and the fact that I've had real bad experiences with American cars, espesially Neons. Even looking though the perfomance capabilities looking-glass, I still wouldn't touch it. If it was RWD or AWD though... No, I'd be worried the transfer case and assosiated hardware would break 30 miles of the lot.

 

I think Neon is Gay or for GIRL... But i seen alot Ricer Neon..... and girls drive neon..

 

The neon Gay? You maybe, but give respect, put up or shut up. I bought mine because of the same reason anyone with a brain buys an sti or evo for, because of what it can do, what's your car do the quarter in 17? Then your going to say, well i can handle.... blah blah that's your car not you, if you know how to drive you can shock the hell out of people with a yugo.

yeah i dont mean flame it but it my option and yours option but Dodge performance and motor made from Mitsubishi and it best but the neon body are look ok but body kit and aftermarkets some are ricey.. i dont mean to rude any Mopar fan! I do like dodge SRT-10 but i dont like neon look like.
