Great news, Evomatt has cancelled his OKCUPID profile. I will not stop chasing this thief on the internet until I get my wheels or money. I still do not have his address. He is also a member on this site.

WELLLLLLLLLL, Received an Email from Paypal. They have retrieved my money, all $650. Although it was not the money that had me so fired up. It was the fact that I was scammed. Never happened before. Although I have calmed down after the Email, I still would like a piece of this low life. I follow societies rules and I guess it is a dream to think everyone else does. If I have offended anyone on this site, I apologize for being a hot head. I am just a big teddy bear in an oversized body with an occasional attitude.

To the extent that any of this is aimed at me, let me say that society's rules are that you first try to retrieve the money in a calm manner. Only after this fails do you start stalking the person, threatening violence (even if only indirectly), etc. You did not follow society's rules. That's why I, for one, was in your face a bit.

With that said, I'm glad you got your money back. I'm equally glad that evOmATT did not get to keep your money.

I don not know why you would think any of this was aimed at you
There are times that a person has the right to protect themselves and their personal property with force. If are going to harm me or another, steal my possessions or be in my personal space, I am not going to sit back and allow it. You have different beleifs them me, not wrong just different. I am 57 years old and have been around the block a few times I would not have accosted this individual without provocation. I am smarter then that.

As is the case about 82% of the time when I'm at a keyboard, typing 0s and 1s onto the internet, I should just go do something else, but, as is the case about 98% of that 82%, I will now fail at self-control.

If you go back and see what I originally wrote, which ended with the idea that you had a better chance of ending up in jail than evOmATT given what you were doing, the important aspect of our disagreement has always been what is legal, not what might be right. While you are correct, from a legal standpoint, that "there are times that a person has the right to protect themselves and their personal property with force," the present situation never came within a mile of such a time. What bothers me so much about this thread was both how you suggested that force was appropriate or legal in this situation and then how so many people seemed to agree with you and egg you on. A large proportion of the violence in our society is caused by exactly this sort of escalation, where one person does something bad to another and then the latter does something even worse to the first. But even setting aside how such escalation takes us all down, please note that the law would not be on your side (as you said at least once). There are no cases where fraud can be used to legally justify violence. None.

But, then, again, I am not a lawyer, I merely know how to read, so feel free to ignore this (all of you).

I have a curve ball... What about if the OP could care less about how u, the police, Evomatt, or anyone else opinion/ advice for that matter? What about if he did get mad enough to do something? Is it anybody's problem or issue but the OP's? Not really. Some people would rather sit in jail with their self respect and dignity than to have some punk on a computer steal his money. Not everyone lives by the same rules. I for one can promise u that I would do all the things you are claiming could get him in trouble. May not be right... But who really makes the determination of right and wrong? The government? Our local law enforcement. What about standing up for what You believe in? People gotta realize that not everyone works the same way. I applaud the OP for being honest. If more punks got their bell rung they might quit posting up broken, damaged, or even parts they don't own or choose not to send but yet collect our hard earned money. Think about it man. I understand there are consequences, but we all already know that. May not be right... But again, who really depicts what is right or wrong? Not me obviously, but don't scam me either or ill rip someone's face off. I don't support violence in general, but i also think an eye for eye in certain instances. Sorry just my opinion. But again if I ever get scammed u will see a thread saying worse than this one.

All the stories of paypal I've heard indicated that they are very buyer-oriented. If a buyer claims stuff was never received, then the seller is SOL. Have they not helped you at all?

This posts says nothing. It is here simply to prevent a hat-trick of posts illustrating that reading is a dying art. Please move on immediately to Post #57. This one, I repeat, says nothing.

There is very little protection for a seller with paypal. Its buyer centric.

I've been scammed out of 2500 bux (he was good. Had a fake shipping company setup and everything. I cyber stalked him and found he had similar scams going on a few car sites and a fake nutritional website and was even on a forum begging for money saying he had a kid sick with cancer.

He was located in Vancouver and because the amount was less then 5k there was little they could do (This was before paypal). FBI wouldn't do anything and Vancouver police were indifferent.

If he was anywhere on the east coast I would've driven up to him regardless of the consequences.

Also had someone literally steal a macbook off the back of my car that was selling. He distracted my wife while I was in the store for a second.

I blame myself both times and will NOT be a victim again. I don't really like buying anything online now because of it. It has to be a smoking deal for me to consider it. When I sell I keep my experiences in mind and always make sure the potential buyer knows everything.

Scammers are the lowest form of life. Down there with child molesters and murderers. I wish nothing but bad on all of them.

Glad you got your money back OP.

OP: I used to track people down for a living when I worked for a real estate company. We used to try to find people that bailed on their foreclosed homes. If there was enough equity for us to make repairs and sell the house within a certain amount of time we would try to buy people out of their houses and give them money and help them move so they would have a place to live. My boss was a really cool guy and wouldn't buy most of the time unless he could help the people losing the home. Anyways, here is a website that you WILL be able to find him, granted if you have enough info.

I feel that this individual should be banned from this site before he scams again. He did not return my money. Palpal returned my full amount. I guess the moderators feel this behavior does not warrant his removal
