Talking

ok, heres the poop, the site we will race on is the larger "square" on the left. It is huge! If you look close, you can see there are airplanes parked on that ramp! As far as the meeting with the SCCA went, it went good. we WONT be doing the mirror image course where 2 race at the same time on opposite tracks, as we cant get the equipment to do so, as the SCCA needs them that weekend! Thats better that we wont! we will have a LARGER track, and we still will have 2 or 3 cars running at the same time, but staggered. the timing on the track will be I believe via beacon.(digitally timed) with the equipment borrowed from the SCCA. the 0-100-0 will be done on the runway just south of the large "block" where the track will be. the car-show/vendor area will be north on the "square". lots of space and lots of fun-a-brewin"! This is going to be super fun, and Dr.Bump I called Hooligan today, and he will save his tires and drive my car. I am thinking that the lowest scoring timed cars have a 10 lap shoot-out to see who will be the overall champion.. Domestic or Import. the track will be large, and will get alot of track-time I am sure!! lot of exciting racing/competition!

we will be getting the timing equipment from the SCCA, as well as the cones and other equipment. The race format will be (depending on cars entered) up to 4 on the track simultaneously! staggered starts! 2 imports/2 domestics? Try to "reel-in" the guy in front of you! the timing equipment can time 4 cars on the track at the same time! your going for the overall lowest time in your class anyway, so your finish position on the track doesnt mean squat, but it makes for great racing, entertaining to watch. you or the crowd wont get bored watching 1 car do the track for time, then the next one goes off etc...

NO door to door! the utmost importance is saftey, then comes fun! the track is big enough, we'll have to see. the timing equipment CAN time 4 cars at a time, it doesnt mean we WILL run 4 at a time. The start will be staggered. one starts his/her way down the course, then 25 seconds later, another car starts, then 25 seconds later car 3 starts. If they are pretty equally prepared cars/drivers, you wont get close to the other person before your 5 laps or however many laps are completed! I want to have a fun time, not a scratch-and-dent sale after the race!!!!!! If someone gets close enough to me to scuff off one of my decals, I will be very upset!!!!!!!!!JK

I don't know what would be worse, some dumbass hitting my car, or my dumbass hitting someone else. I'm grateful that there will be no wheel-to-wheel racing Just wanna have fun.

Anybody know the story about the Cobra with the 350ci engine? Guys on another forum that I posted this on are arguing about the ability for a chevy engine to be in a Cobra. It's sacrilage to them.

Wheel to wheel racing, is when your racing side by side, or close together, so close that your wheels, and the other persons wheels can touch. hence "wheel to wheel", some cars will want to turn but cant because of their set up etc, I wouldnt want to be there next to them when it is figured out they cant turn!
